Atelier Hotel Johor Bahru

it was a pleasant experience, the room and interior was nice, but it is true that the sound insulation was bad, you can literally hear everything from the chair being dragged, elevator bell, dispenser, hairdryer and yes the ktv right next door 😅 The room is compact but enough and clean which i appreciate. The amenities were all complete soap, shampoo, body lotion, dental kit, shower cap and thankfully they have hair dryer. And they also provide free drinking water refill and TV. There's so many restaurant around the area too, you won't starved or you can order Grab food. There's a 7-11 like a couple stores beside the hotel, so everything is convenient. If you can, choose the room upstairs, i think there's many mosquitos on the first floor, when i sat at the lounge, there's many around

Room is excellent, comfortable for short stay. Disposable dental kit, shower gel and shampoo with conditional are provided. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants and cafe.The drawback will be the parking could be difficult to look for as no parking lot is provided.

Our second time staying here. We were intrigued by the price per night and how true-to-description the rooms are (judging by how we got scammed by some hotel room pictures). Despite some miscommunication on this trip, we managed to get a room for the night on a last minute basis. The staffs who served us during the trip were so polite and friendly. They tried to give us suggestions to cater to our needs. Kudos to them. We recommend this hotel even though it's quite a distance from CIQ. Highly recommended and will repeat our stay here.

My very first time to this hotel very satiscfied really love the hotel the view, the room very clean, good smell, the housekeeping & frontdesk staff very helpfull . The room really look aesthetics and they also got roof top you can chill there also. Really recomended.

Chance upon this cozy yet secluded hotel by accident...

Stayed at this hotel during the Deepavali holiday for 1 night, place was nice and clean, the design of the hotel is very minimalistic, simple and eco friendly.

For the lobby the hotel provides a sharing space for their guests to chill and they also provide free flow ready to drink coffee and tea with some tidbits/snack.
Do note that the hotel takes a deposit of 50RM when checking in and they will issue u a receipt do remember to keep it for checking out and they will refund you the 50RM deposit.

More about the room...
We booked the standard basic room which consists of two super single bed, as for the softness/hardness of the bed is towards the harder side. They also have a television which only have like 9 channels so channel surfing could be a problem with. As for the air conditioning was working well it can get a little too cold at night do make sure you adjust to the right temperature. The only slightly troublesome thing about this hotel is that they don't provide bottled water but they do provide two thermal flask for refilling hot or cold water just right beside the lift, which we think is a good initiative.

Next up is the toilet...
As for the toilet, the toilet design is very simple, just a toilet bowl with bidet and a showering corner, they also provided basic toiletries like soap, shampoo and body lotion toothbrush and toothpaste, the temperature of the water heater is a little inconsistent sometimes it gets a little too hot so do watch out of the temperature.

Around the hotel...
As first look, looking around the hotel looks a little bit disappointing, the surrounding of the hotels mostly shop houses which are mostly closed, but when u explore the place deeper there is actually quite a lot of food and leisure activities.

For Food and Drinks...
Surrounding the hotel there are quite the amount of food and drinks for convenient wise there is a 7-11 store nearby like a 3 mins walk.
During the afternoon there are a fair amount of stores that are open like a kopitiam just across the road of the hotel which sells some tze char dishes and porridge.
During the night just right outside of the kopitiam in the parking lot areas there will be people selling food like BBQ Honey Chicken and some LOK LOK shop, there are also more stores surrounding the hotel like a nasi kandar store.

For leisure activities...
The place is near quite a few malls nearby like KSL city mall which is just a 2km walk away or you could just book a Grab to the mall and also just right beside the hotel there is a Karaoke shop which opens till late and also a Massage parlour beside the kopitiam which opens 24hrs if I'm not wrong.

Checking out process...
Checking out of the place was simple and easy just let the counter know to check out and handover the receipt issued to get back the 50RM deposit to you when checking in and off you go.

Will i be coming back again?
YES! We will Definitely will be coming back for another stay soon as we really enjoy our short stay at this simple yet cozy hotel. A well deserved 5 star rating!

Have stayed @the atelier for a few times and always it's as good and nice as we expected.
Room is clean and comfy. Getting a bigger room is better because the standard room is way too small it's hard to even open a cabin size baggage. There is 7-11 and also kopitiams nearby. Everything in atelier is just great for a short gateway in Johor bahru! Will always come back anytime again.

The hotel has a very relaxing vibe and room was clean. One of the better wallet-friendly hotels around in jb. Overall a comfortable stay.

Room is clean though a little small even though I book the family suite with the bath tub. Room isn’t v sound proof cause can hear a lot of noise when neighbour opening door. But the lobby area is great with many plugs and seats available. Walk in rate is definitely much cheaper than booking it online

never stayed there, but the kind hearted lady helped us to call other hotels to see if there is vacancy. The lobby design is pretty sick and the whole atmosphere were great

Polite and friendly staffs. My room was very clean. Big freestanding bathtub , my kids were super excited . Nice rooftop with seating areas!

I loved the concept. Price is freaking reasonable. However, we booked the King size bed room but the toilet host was broken so we requested for another room. The only room was available was the 2 single beds, but we still had to pay for the King size room (the space was smaller).

They have a pantry, you can makan the biscuits, coffee, tea. They have Coway on every floor so you can borrow their flask to refill. They also sell their body and hair products at the lobby. You will also be able to try it as they prepare it in your room.

The hotel interior is superb, the room is cozy af. Though the parking is quite hard to find. The shampoo and shower gel was so good. The highlight is the rooftop. Definitely will sleep here again. And maybe they could put slippers in the room. Just that

Stayed here after a week-long of lockdown in UTM college for some “fresh air”! Never regret my decision to stay for 3 nights as for RM55/night, I got more than I expected!!!

1) Super clean room, comfy bed, just enough simple furniture that ease your day, great shower with shampoo and bath foam provided!
2) Close to variety of food outlet! I just ordered via Panda and Grab and sometimes have my meal at their public pantry on Ground Floor next to the water feature
3) They provide brand new elevator that works! Also water filter (that I had no idea how to use). Coffee was also provided, and shared iron facilities. That’s all we need right?

Only downside is poor sound proofing. You can hear people talk and walk from inside of your room.

Overall this boutique hotel is excellent! New, not creepy, amazing design (I’m an architect so I look into design wherever I go and this hotel has totally nailed it!) and most importantly SUPER CHEAP AND COMFY!!!

The location is good as ksl is close by. Perfect for solo traveling. My go to hotel!
