We spent the first day of 2024 hiking here. We went on the Waterfall Trail. It took us 1hr 30 mins one way to the waterfall. First 30-40 mins walking on the concrete road and it’s going uphill all the way. Past Rayu Trail entrance, walk for another 10metres to the entrance of Waterfall Trail. This time the trail is downhill mostly. Didn’t see any bearded boar, just squirrels and leeches. A lot of leeches due to rainy season now.
Surprisingly not many people at the waterfall although we saw about 15-20 cars parked at the Park HQ. Maybe they are on other trails. Cool water and it was drizzling at noon. We moved away from the fall in case the water swell. There is a changing room shed but some irresponsible visitors left their trash there. No lights inside though.
Registration is via online registration. Barcode at the counter inside the Park HQ. Paid by cash and the park staff issued a printout of entry pass.
Come early to get good parking spot.
Difficulty level - Easy for seasoned hikers, moderate for beginners.
Waterfall rocks are really slippery. Be careful.
Would love to go there again..

Best place to visit while staying in Kuching...so peaceful, waterfalls/river streams, dense jungle, rain forest, low charges of ticket only RM50. Free parking.

Came here on a weekday with friends for a short hike. The climb up to the hike is absolutely treacherous with a whopping elevation of 900ft on a cement pavement that you have to climb before starting any trails. It is not for the faint of heart 😅

We took the waterfall trail that took us about 3 hours return but of course we spent about 40 minutes at the waterfall itself just enjoying the view. The water is extremely clean and clear.

Definitely worth a visit as the place is nice, clean and there's not many people during weekdays. There is also a vending machine at reception area with cheap packet and can drinks 😁

Although you must arrive here before 10am for registration and finish the trails by 3pm. Entrance fee is also RM10 per head and no guide is required.

Really impressed at how well marked and maintained the trails were. We did the waterfall trek and it was very refreshing to have a cold shower in the middle of our trek. Also impressed at the staff helping people get taxis back to Kuching after their treks.

What a frogging experience - simply amazing! When it started raining, more frogs hopped out, some unto the main road!

My guide, Lucian, was superb as a frog expert, going out of his way to provide his services.

You can obtain his contact (and contacts of other certified guide) at the Sarawak forestry website.

A great weekend workout especially for those who love hiking. The trail is long, so prepare your legs for more than an hour walk. Don't worry, you can take quick breaks at the huts provided by the road side. Take your time, enjoy the nature. It's going to be a good adventure.

The waterfall has reopened after being closed for more than 3 years. Remember to get to the registration counter before 10 am because they close thereafter. The hike to the waterfall takes 1.5 hours covering a little more than 3 km.

It hasn't use the forest trail to climb up until the summit. But it was really challenging because it requires whole our body to climb the mountain. And as well as a lot beautiful natures around the trail. Such a great moment that you can created.

Don’t book it with agency as they will rip you off! I took a grab with my girlfriend and it costed us 150RM return for both us and the driver waited for us 4 hours. Agency will take at least 200RM per person...
This is an amazing place and awesome to get a real feel for jungle. Paths are very well signaled. Come with repellent (I haven’t had one but came back without any stings) and definitely with enough water. Did the waterfall and Selang trail. Definitely recommend you to go in the morning as you will have the whole place for yourself. No guide needed. Wear a proper shoes - I did it in sneakers.

Great experience hiking here today. The view up there was amazing and there is also an observatory tower made of belian wood. The climb may took 2-3 hours depends on your stamina, do expect that the tar road is continous until the summit except for the Raiyu trail and waterfall trail I guess. Quite tough because it's really steep. Don't be shy to ask the staff there if you didn't manage to get parking.

We did the blue and orange trails here and really enjoyed them. The waterfall does have a tree semi blocking it but you can go over or under. The longer trail it less trafficked and ends at a rehabilitation center where you can see some caged animals such as monkeys, crocodile, birds and sun bears.

The park and the staff are great, we stayed one night in Kubah to enjoy a nice walk, from the view point until the waterfall and the night Walk. It's a special place for birds and amphibians. The guides were all fully booked so Ayung offered us to be our guide in the night Walk; he is a very experienced and pationate ranger since 28 years. He spotted so many animals and even catched the smallest frog in the world for us to see...
Thanks guys you make a great work!!

Maybe the bungalows are a bit outdated, poor bathrooms and poor beds, even though the structure is nice in nice wood with big terrace.

if you're a fitness freak, love hiking, nature lover this is a good place to go. entrance fee is rm10/pax. the hike was uphill from the start. took a beginner for me 2hours hike an another 1hr+ going down. The tower was close when i went there..maybe it needed some repairs or something. wasn't sure but the scenery is great, breathtaking nevertheless.

The Kubah park is easy to get to with a Grab from Kuching (paid 23 RM). Entrance fee is 20 RM for non Malaysian. Great hiking trails. Started of doing the yellow trail (awesome view point) which was quite steep uphill and continued via orange and white to the blue trail (waterfall) where we could cool off in the water. Finished off going down the paved summit road past the frog pond. Took about 5 hours in total. Would highly recommend doing this hike.

📍Kubah Waterfall, Kuching

When we had our pre-wedding photoshoot 3 years ago, we knew it had to be different..
We hiked in Kubah National Park all the way in to the waterfall, about an hour of journeying, together with 2 family friends who are amazing photographers. We brought formal attire, and changed there and there, just to immerse ourselves in the wonders of Borneo's Rainforests.

🌸The waterfall was magical.. It's not the gushing type with thundering waters, but instead, a gentle cascading fall with beautiful serenity pools, perfect for cool-water dipping. What makes this waterfall ethereal is how lush vines and ferns of different greens line the side of the cascades, flourishing and thriving with the constant gentle patters of water. The photography there was well worth all the effort.

🚗How to get there?
Drive by car (or rent) to Kubah National Park, using Waze or Google Maps. From Kuching, the journey will take about an hour or so. Upon arrival, Malaysians only have to pay RM 10 per entry, Foreigners at Rm 20. You will receive a map with 2 main destinations - the top of the mountain, and Kubah waterfall.

🌄You can give the top of the mountain journey a miss. From what I hear, there isn't even a view to enjoy, and it's just a tar road journey all the way.
Kubah Waterfall is to me the main attraction here.

⏲Come by morning; by afternoon, you might be denied entry because the rangers would have no one inside the rainforests after 6pm.

*Special thanks to Gabriel Diong and Julieann for the amazing photoshoot!

The highlight of this park is the orang utan. Big and huge! It is interesting to see how they walk and climb. Each orang utan has its own name. Medium sized park with medium amount of animals. Porcupines were also very cute. Good to bring kids as the walk is not too long and the length of walk is okay. But might be too small for youngsters.

The waterfall trail is the shortest among all the trails in Kubah National Park. Great for a day trip the entrance fee is 10MYR for adults. The hike is manageable although the hike back from the waterfall can be a little taxing because of the steps. Nonetheless the waterfall is amazing and definitely worth the hike.
