I went to Caring Pharmacy hoping to find a hand cream, as I was having an eczema flare-up on my hands. As someone who has lived with eczema for my entire life, I thought I knew how to tackle any curveball thrown my way when it involved my skin. But with my latest flare-up, I was at a loss.

I went to my doctor a couple of weeks prior and she prescribed me with some corticosteroid and antihistamine tablets, plus some topical corticosteroid, but those did not work as I had hoped. After finishing my meds, I noticed that the red patches had dried up, leaving my skin so dry that every now and then, it would crack and heal (though never entirely) and crack again. I felt very hopeless and if it had not been for the pain the cracks had caused me (especially the ones on my right thumb, which would bleed occasionally), I would have given up trying to look for a remedy a long time ago.

I was lucky to have met Angelic, the pharmacist on duty, at the time of my visit. I approached her and asked if she could help me pick a hand cream because there were too many of them on the shelves. She then picked a few that she thought would help keep my skin moisturised for longer, as according to her, dry skin is more prone towards flare-ups, so it is crucial that I moisturise my hands every time after I wash them. I also learned that my flare-up could be due to the change in weather, stress, or lack of sleep. I appreciate her explaining everything to me in detail and I find her very knowledgable and informative.

The information I got from her made me realise there is so much more to my skin condition than what I had previously known. With her help, I managed to narrow the hand creams down to just two brands, Linola and Eucerin. Angelic was kind enough to get some samples from the store and let me try both hand creams. I decided to go with the one from Eucerin in the end because the moisturising effect was immediate and also longer-lasting.

My hands look and feel so much better these days and I use the hand cream 4 to 5 times daily. I also apply some petroleum jelly from Vaseline on top of the hand cream right before I go to sleep at night to help lock in all the moisture. No more unsightly cracks and peeling on my hands!

Last but not least, I would like to thank Angelic for being so helpful and patient with me. I think she spent a good 15 to 20 minutes helping me find the best hand cream for my skin. She really does live up to her name. 😇💖

I went to this pharmacy 2 days ago and wanted to buy LMS cream. While looking for the items in shelves, A chinese lady wearing short skirt keep looking at us cautiously and constantly. I dont know what was she thinking. Did i looked like a thief???? Bad impression. First and last to be there..
