Asam Pedas Jalan Joned (Asam Pedas Simol)

The best assam pedas restaurant so far in Muar. They have different type of fishes for assam pedas speciality i.e. ikan mayong, jenahak, merah. Also they offer free refillable air balang. Open concept dining and comfortable. We visited the restaurant at 3++ pm but the crowd is still there, means that the foods are really tasty.

Food is delicious and spicyness good for even those who cannot endure spicy food. You get to appreciate the taste of thr gravy and fish. For those spicy addicts, you can add on Sambal Belacan to fulfill your spicy crave.

This is the best ikan assam pedas that we’ve eaten by far in Muar. It’s just an extended hut type of eatery by the roadside.

We were there at about 1pm, so it wasn’t at the start of lunch crowd, and the food on offer weren’t the freshest of the crop.

But… the assam pedas was flavourful and tasty, fish was fresh. Vegetables aplenty. We had chicken curry as well as fried enoki.

The side dishes of fried tofu and fried egg were tasty too.

Parking wise it’s really by the road. Traffic wasn’t busy despite it being lunch hour.

I went there during lunch two days streak and i satisfied with their food and services. The owner very friendly since he calling us “sedara” and “mak mentua / pak mentua. Very funny. They have ‘air balang’ and the refill is free.

Off the road parking so you need to find your spot.
Loads of asam pedas choice, from fish, fish eggs etc. First time taste Johor assam pedas and i got no regret! Wish i tapau some that day.
Got ur fresh veg (ulam), fried crabs, mushroom egg omelette etc. Drink also have free flow OR u can order special drink which u have to pay seperately (i was informed barley lemon drink is famous here).
Can pay by cash, credit card or QR.
Price wise, not too expensive with the amount 6 of us took for lunch.

My taste buds exploded lol. One of the best tasting asam pedas for me as I'm not really a fan of asam Pedas. But this is the best by far. Definitely a visit. But it gets really crowded and hard to get place to dine so if you're coming in groups, get someone to go and book a table. The price is reasonable too. We were a group of 7 and paid about 25usd or RM100~ for our menu.

The Place to go when in Muar, craving for Asam Pedas Ikan Merah, Maung, Daging Tetel, a variety of dishes ready just waiting to be taken and tried.

Drinks refill are free, parking is by the roadside. Come early so you can get a good parking and seating.

Come here for lunch and wanna try their asam pedas because i see alot of good feedback on the internet. Dont have anything bad to say because everything was ok and good. The food there for me are good sedap! And the price are reasonable too. Place getting crowded on lunch time(in the picture around 1pm) so if you want to go there.. better come early. And the guy who counts the price also friendly and nice 👌🏻. Recommended to come 🤗

Hi everyone. This Asam Pedas place is a must if you have just arrived in Muar. The asam pedas is scrumptious, the taste is just nice (not spicy with a hint of sourness) and the service is quick. We had asam pedas ikan pari and ikan jenahak. The fish were fresh sweet. Definitely will repeat the experience ❤

The food is very tasty and fresh. Sambal belacan is awesome. Asam pedas ikan pari, asam pedas telor ikan, telor dadar, asam pedas ikan jenahak are all very satisfying. BOTOK2 is very awesome taste. All these food costs us RM60.00 only too cheap if we were to compare with the amount of fish and food we ate. Alhamdulillah syukur nikmat allah😊😊

Newly refurbish shop, nicely layout. Parking is still a hassle but no biggie.

A lot of choices for asam pedas and variaties of kampung dishes..Lamb shank asam pedas is a really good dish to try...I really recommend it.
