I visited this mosque for afternoon prayers after exploring Muar, and I was impressed with its unique and traditional design. The mosque was built in 1927 and completed in 1930, and I'm grateful that it has been preserved so well. Although some parts of the mosque seemed to undergo refurbishment, the traditional carvings were still intact.

The mosque has separate sections for male and female worshippers, and the ablution area is spacious and clean. The washroom also has many cubicles, which is a plus. The parking lot is huge, and the mosque is located next to Muar river, offering an excellent view.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience to pray at a well-preserved mosque like this. I highly recommend visiting this mosque if you're in the area.

Calm and very good vibe there is Muar's river at the back ..and also its maintain with colonial designed.

The architecture of the old masjid is awe-inspiring, with intricate designs and delicate calligraphy adorning its walls.

The imam's speech were thought-provoking and offered guidance that resonated deeply within me.

Old mosque with exquisite architecture. Scenic mosque by the side of Muar river. During covid 19 pandemic you have to bring your own standard size prayer mat to pray inside the mosque. Stop for you prayer here and you will feel the serenity amidst the bustling city.

Among old masjids. In operation since 1930. Very nice and very well maintained. Unique building design. Very nice interior too. It is located beside Muar River, therefore giving a very nice view. Ample parking. It also adjoins to the recreational park. A lot of activities at the park including watching sunset.

Saw this building on a walking tour of the city back in Feb. The Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim is a mosque at the western end of Maur, near the mouth of the Muar River. The mosque is a beautifully designed monumental building that befits a place designated a royal city of Johor Bahru. The design of the building has influences of western, eastern and south east asian architecture. Many of the buildings in Johor Bahru and especially this mosque is unlike other buildings in Malaysia. The building looks more like a mansion than a place of worship. The lower level has a very European, Neoclassical and Renaissance style, facade and balcony. The balustrades are decorated with a mixture of South-East Asian and European style domes and urns. The minaret shows a mixture of European, Eastern and Turkish influences. The entire building is painted predominantly in white with strips of baby blue to add a dash of colour.

I thought that the building was very pretty and marvelled at the harmonious blend of all the different styles employed in the design.

This masjid is very unique, the design its combine British and Islamic art, from the front maybe we not realize that building is a masjid.. at the wudhuk place we can see the water spray and it has small pond to use take wudhuk , the location is near muar's river , very cool & beauty panorama...

It's well maintained mosque.. Very comfortable n clean.. Tump up to the mosque committee members..

One of the best mosques in Malaysia. The mosque has old traditional touch making it one of the best landmarks in Muar.

My family's fav place to drop by to perform prayers since it is comfy and we can just chill next to the mosque to enjoy the river view.

A historical landmark. If you love art deco period architecture post WWI and pre WWII, you'll appreciate it more. If you're not into architecture, the scenery is breathtaking.

Located on the banks of Muar River, it offers visitors a scenic view. Just across the river sits HRH Vacation Palace, and you can see the iconic Muar Bridge.

Ample parking space. I would suggest for you park behind the Mosque, for its cool breeze, scenery, and shades among the trees.
