Dine-in at 9:30am on Friday 8 March 2024

Ordered the: Lady Grey iced tea, apple crumble, 6 soft boiled eggs, chicken wing

My first time in Bentong was made even better with this place! Love how moist the apple crumble was. My only criticism is that most of the items I wanted to try was not available at the time (but the owner of the establishment kindly informed that the menu is being revised, and was helpful enough to recommended alternative items on the menu).

Would definitely visit again to try out their new menu 🙌

Chose the place from the previous review we read,we think it could be good for our kids to learn a history of the town. And turned out to be our best experience of the day ! We love the place for the information and history they shared, the cozy place, cleanliness, friendly staff, and of course delicious food and drink. I need a warm drink and the staff suggest me to order warm tea with kum kuat (small citrus fruit),and that's the perfect drink for me. The smoked duck carbonara was superb, smooth, tasty, delicious - the other drink, I forget the name (taro drink) also flavourful and nice. And the cheese cake was packed with goodness.
A recommended place to hang out, rest, have a good food and drink, while learning a history of Bentong.
Will definitely come again.

The shop owner here is very friendly and helpful. The local here told us that this is one of the oldest building (120+ years) in Bentong and its a property was owned by Mr Loke Yew. Very informative place to learn about the background story about Bentong and the attractions.

Surprisingly drinks at the cafe here is fantastic!! Coffee must try! The food menu is interesting too. It's a great place to lepak and chill after the foodie schedules.

They are selling the famous Bukit tinggi ginger, also some interesting local products and souvenirs.

Most importantly, the toilet is very clean 😃

Highly recommended. Free of charge for admission. Its a culture museum cafe. Very good experience here.

Plan to have a coffee there. When I was there choosing the drinks from menu, I keep hiccuping. The person in charge, Amy, she is friendly and caring, quickly serve me a cup of water. Their coffee is good, a cup of cuppucino cost me RM 9.50 only which I feel it's worthwhile as support their maintain a good culture museum and the environment is good.

We also enjoy shopping at native store. Happen to be she have a sample bottle, she do a small cup of ginger black sugar drink for me to have a try. Appreciate her way of hospitality. A very good experience with you all. Thanks.

Lovely little gallery detailing the history of Bentong in pictures and artifacts. The lady who runs the gift store is a delight, gave us ginger tea samples, Bentong tips and product recommendations. Bought their ginger powder and nyonya laksa paste, yet to try but pleased with price, service, everything!

Stumbled upon this place by accident. It's completely free and well worth a visit to this little Bentong museum. Amy Low was very friendly and had a wealth of knowledge to share about the artefacts on display and Mr. Loke Yew's contribution to society. There is a small cafe and souvenir shop inside as well. Would highly recommend for school visits and a lesson in history for the young ones.

It’s worth a visit if you happen to have spare 20-30minutes. The gallery is quite informative and has extensive in outlining the founding and history of Bentong.
Admission is free and there is a pretty decent cafe and a small retail section at the back.
Finally, they have durian ice cream which reminded me of home made durian popsicles of the old days. So don’t forget to try it.

A nice free gallery that gives a brief history of the area and provides some important linkages into other notable Malaysian figures.

Information is provided in Chinese, Malay, and English so nearly anyone can partake. There's a small cafe on site and a gift shop selling some local foods.

Entry is free and when we went on a Monday there was no wait.

A wonderful one-stop gallery brings you through the historical corridor of this former mining town, to shop for Bentong local products and to enjoy the yummy food! The staffs are very friendly, welcoming and excited to tell you what must-do and must-eat at Bentong. The gallery was nicely decorated for visitors to experience the rich history of Bentong. Many precious antiques are well-maintained and stored in good condition. While the gallery exhibit is pleasant to eyes, the array of food that they served brings satisfaction to taste buds too! I was welcomed by a beautifully freshly brewed coffee. The milk was frothed to the perfection. Then, we matched it with the crispy toasted bread slathered with aromatic kaya and chunky cold butter. It's definitely a great COMBO of the day! The stringy dark sauce noodle was fragranced with local-made Bentong soy sauce. We ordered nicely stir-fried stuffed toufu bok. Of course, we then celebrated the great meal with the signature Bentong red bean ice potong layered with creamy coconut milk. It is definitely a "One-Stop, Must-Stop" tourists centre on visitors' checklist during their Bentong Trip!

Nice stopover for a hot day - and also a good place to know the history of this old tin mining town, which is the home of the famed Mr. Loke Yew (he with the long road in KL named after him)... And there was also a cool exhibit of the utensils used for tin mining along with some outdated gadgets including typewriters, dumb phones, phonograph player, rotary telephone, and even a Singer manual sewing machine...

And since it was also my first time in Bentong in years, I had to get a small souvenir as well!

A small gallery but informative enough to learn about Bentong's history. They sell some products at the mini market inside and have a cafe as you walk in.
