Matang Family Park

Nice park for mountainside fresh air & cool dip at the stream which is a stone's throw away from the entrance. Clean & well maintained. RM4 for adults & RM2 for children above 6. Well worth the tickets! Will be back to explore more.

It is a park without any entrance fee. Just need to sign in at entrance for safety purposes. It is nice and natural place for chill out, picnic or hiking.

Crystal clear and pristine water. And not many people. The river is mostly shallow but there is also a deeper man-made pool.

Nice cold and clean flowing water. Very well kept bathrooms. Great BBQ areas with sinks and piped water taps. Very clean and pleasant. Enjoy it.

Suitable for family gathering and chilling. The water is still clean and refreshing. Kids would love this. Btw, there is BBQ pit, just feel free to bring anything for bbq (not sure if pork is allowed)

This is the perfect place for a family and friend's picnic. This place have prepared the cemented BBQ pit for grilling, but you need to prepare the coal and stuff yourself. The rental fee for BBQ pit is Rm5, and you can grill as early from 5am until 6pm! The entrance fee is RM4 for Malaysian adult.

You can also swim at the river inside while waiting your BBQ. Make sure to keep your valuable things at your side as the place has a lot of loop hole, and the guard also warned us that.

Compare to the main city of Kuching, this is a very rural place, don't held high expectation of having Uber or Grab service here. You should rent a car to reach here if possible.

Take note that this is a rainforest area, you'll going to face a lot of mosquito, sands fly, and some small leach. Make sure to bring the mosquito repellent, mosquito balm and lighter (to remove the leech) to make your life easier.

Don't visit this place at the end of the year as the rainfall percentage is high, you don't want to BBQ in the middle of the rain like what I did last time!! Funny and at the same time, a BAD experience!
