So far, our best meal in town!! Perfect guacamole, tacos chimarro, brisket (very flavorful, but a little tough), corn appetizer as well as the beets. So delicious. Love the atmosphere and artwork!

We loved this place! The decor is incredible, the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The area is lovely as well with lots of places to go for drinks after. This place is definitely worth checking out if you’re in Merida for a few nights.

Wow! What an amazing restaurant! Not only is the food absolutely phenomenal, but the light show and music (in the outdoor patio seating area) are fantastic. Highly recommend going after dark to see the light show. Definitely a highlight of our time in Merida.

Very chill and good service. Ordered Arroz with octopus and shrimp, taste of tomato sauce and char grill had a perfect balance. Octopus is tender and shrimp is fresh. Also tried the seafood stuffed pepper , be cautious- it’s very spicy even for a person who has high tolerance on spicy level.

Atmosphere is also quiet. The backyard is very fun lighting during night, recommend a walk!

Very nice atmosphere, very Mexican style with nice music and decoration. Very nice place to spend the evening in. I would come back!
-if you have a car could be difficult to find a street parking space.

Stopped by for a drink and snack. Delicious cocktails and guacamole. The service was fantastic. The back patio atmosphere is as good as it gets! The wall mural still has me in awe!

Probably the best tacos I've ever had (Gobernado y Lechon). Their Ceviche is the most unique I've tasted. Catrin is a must visit in Merida! Generous portions for your entire group and salsa sampling you won't forget. Their seasoned chips were also a delicious delight.

Such an experience!! We thought the mural alone was worth visiting, we did not know it is a show every hour as it moves!! Amazing atmosphere, very good food (we had the rib-eye taco’s) and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely go when you visit Merida. Tip: a table at the patio to see the mural!!

Fellow travelers - Catrin is a must if you are visiting Merida. Its a 15-minute walk from Centro / Plaza Grande, and is located on Calle 47 - the new hot spot for upscale restaurants, coffee shops and bars in Merida.

For dinner, please take my word for it - sit outside in the courtyard so you can see the enormous mural. After dark, the restaurant used "projection mapping" to project a video on top of the mural to make the various elements and figures in the mural seem to come alive set to music. The projection mapping is set to music and come on every 45 minutes according to our waitress. We saw 2 while we were there - the first is the normal Catrin characters coming to life and lucha libre wrestlers with masks, and the second was a graveyard dance fest set to Michael Jackson's Thriller. You'll forget the food when these come on!

The food was great Yucatan flavor profile, mezcal margs were top notch, and the atmosphere was very friendly and festive. Service was timely and well-trained professionals.

If you have time to walk out of Centro, this is the place to go. Top it off with a nightcap from Gin 47 Mixology a few doors down from Catrin.

PS: I don't want to post too many pictures to spoil the projection mapping, but yes that mural in the picture is almost probably 30 feet tall!

This place felt like authentic Mexico. The food and atmosphere were a real highlight, we recommend you sit outside for the entertainment. Food was delicious, especially the watermelon salad. Big portions and we ordered too much. But would return.

Wow, wow, wow! Que magnifico! Come for the incredible regional food, stay for the Senor Esqueleto light show where he comes to life and dances to Thriller and more! And all very affordable! We had a giant group (Orthopterists' Society) and all had a wonderful time! And, of course, we ate many bowls of guacamole con chapulines!

Make a reservation for the patio. Google said not too busy after 8pm but still had to wait for a table and then were seated inside. Cool place with an extensive, online drink menu. Take a few minutes to look it over before ordering. The margarita cocktails were excellent. The food was all flavourful and well prepared. Started with Aguachilie shrimp and chapolines. Didn't find the chapolines added much but the slivers of tomatillo were a nice touch. Nopales salad was nicely dressed. Lechón tacos and Michoacan pork we're both great but the later was a more hearty dish for the same price. Overall it was a good experience and I will go back...but with a patio reservation. Fun fact, the cashier crochets the coasters.

We’ve only been in Mexico for a couple of days but dinner at Catrin has been a highlight so far. Fantastic atmosphere especially in the garden, amazing cocktails and really great food. Service was brilliant and very helpful, we are travelling with a coeliac and there were heaps of choices, the staff really knew which dishes would be ok or not -

The food here is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Some of the best food I've had in a very long time. I would not recommend the desserts. But the food is amazing!
Jesus was our waiter and he was very attentive and friendly. Overall we loved our experience here.

We went in for a cocktail pitstop - and I am grateful we did. The ambience this place has is exceptional. It is effortlessly cool without being pretentious. My mezcal margarita was the best I had in two weeks across Mexico - it was crystal clear and dirty as you like. Stunning. The guacamole was plentiful and bursting with freshness. My only regret was not heading here for dinner. This is a seriously impressive venue in a city filled with great joints.

Probably the most creative place I've been to in Yucatán. The menu had some very interesting and original options, and the food was absolutely delicious! Service was impeccable, and the video projection in the courtyard area was an awesome touch! Highly recommended!

Went to Catrins last night with a foodie friend from Palm Springs, California. Were we impressed!
Atmosphere's fabulous! Great art, lighting and a cute little shop. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't sit outside to fully appreciate the stunning light show. Full up. MAKE RESERVSTIONS!
Our servers were attentive without being a pain, and quite charming.
They have an original menu. Our starters were a beet dish and great guacamole. They also provide gratis blue and white corn chips with a flight of nice dip sauces.
Then a unique watermelon salad along with beer marinated brisket. I'm in love...
Without a doubt will go again..and again...and again. Though this time with reservations to sit in the darling courtyard.
