Great museum where you can tour the beautiful kitchen where mole poblano was created. We were only allowed to tour the museum with a guide, which was completely free and full of interesting information (only in Spanish). Our guides name was Oscar and he was super knowledgeable and funny. Along with the kitchen, there are two floors of exhibits ranging from artesanias, traditional dance costumes, masks, and religious imagery all from the state of Puebla. Highly recommend this museum. Oh, and the best part is that it’s free unless you want to tip the awesome guide.

The birthplace of Mole Poblano! The museum was incredible and we had a great tour in Spanish. Not to be missed if you are in Puebla. Informative and extensive collection of handcrafts.

A hidden gem - the kitchens were completely tiled in the local vibrant tiles as a reward for the nuns creating Mole. Our guide explained everything, and the tiling is amazing. Also, all the original tools & utensils are on view.
Upstairs, there is a vibrant and exciting museum exhibiting modern crafts and art, local mexican history, and how the convent functioned. Everything is beautifully displayed and lit. It's peaceful and cool, and it's an absolute joy to be in such a building, seeing treasure after treasure.
There are costumes, masks, and Day of the Dead references.
Downstairs, there is a calm and private courtyard. It's easy to forget you are in the busy town of Puebla!
Our guide was great, fortunately his english was better than our spanish, and we were so glad we had the opportunity to see everything.
There are good loos.

Really nice place to go. The kitchen is a fantastic example of how talavera is an amazing material to use and simply beautiful. The patio is also quite nice. While not in Puebla's center, it is in walking distance for sure. It is going to be a quick visit but worth it. I'm happy to see that each year more area of the museum is restored and accesible to the public.

A must see when visiting Puebla. If possible, take a guided tour to learn about the history of the Ex Convento.

Beautiful building that's well-preserved, with courtyards, cloisters, and a stunning kitchen. The displays in the museum are well-done. Slightly out of the way, but easily reachable by the Calle 5 shopping street. A hidden gem that should not be missed.

The birthplace of mole poblano - as I understand it. Beautiful old building from 1698 - China Poblana on the walls - a little strange for an ex-nunnery. Had a guide show me around, but could not ask him about it. Free entry on domingos - 40 pesos on other days.
