Excellent double flat white, Chai tea, coconut vanilla biscuit, and pineapple coconut pastry. Highly recommend this little gem. Great seating area in the courtyard, too.

I had my first Iced Coffee in Merida at this wonderful coffee shop in the Parque de Santa Lucia area after searching for one while walking and shopping for souvenirs. I had the Vanilla Iced Cafe and it was que rico! The barista was friendly even though he didn’t speak English. He accepted my poor Spanish and served up the perfectly balanced iced coffee I was yearning for. Bengala is also a cool, laidback atmosphere for popping open your laptop to write or work, or planning your day with friends. Keeping it on my list of Merida favorites to revisit.

Great coffee shop right across from the Santa Lucia park. I tried a hot cappuccino and the iced honey latte. Both were excellent!

A People-First Coffee House

I absolutely love this place. The staff are super friendly and the food is fantastic. All types of drinks are available and indoor/outdoor seating are options for whatever your needs.

Whether you want to just relax and let your mind wander or work on your next digital venture, this coffee house has you covered, accommodating all variety of contexts and situations.

To give you a sense of what this place is like (just one case example):
When my iPhone's battery needed to be recharged (It was at 3% battery-life), I asked Jesus, the barista, if he had a cable I could use. Without delay he gave me his cable and plugged it into a wall. No complaints, shrugs, eye rolls, or any drama whatsoever.

Now normally this wouldn't seem like such a big deal but you should know that of all the coffee houses I have visited in this city (20+, as of this writing), not a single one has ever had a cable to help me recharge my batteries (I use this as a sort of test of customer service--I know, I'm terrible!). Only this coffee house was willing to assist!

So this goes to show you what kind of an exceptional experience you can have here at a place like this. Let me tell you: "Above and beyond" is the byword here at Bengala!

Highly HIGHLY recommended, especially for foreigners who speak English but want to practice Spanish!

Great price! Friendly and for the Spanish challenged they speak great English.

Delicious and cheap sandwiches, they only costs $55 pesos between 6PM and 10PM. I furthermore ordered coffee with coconut milk. Not on the menu, but I recommend you to try! Cosy small place and friendly staff.

Felt pretty chuffed to find this place. Snagged it by myself so had great attention, good air con, free wifi, and I loved my choices of iced chai and the coconut pastry thing which was … muy rico!!

There's a small coffee shop is a great option if you're looking for a real coffee and sweet bread. They have their own recipes and the products are always fresh. It's near San Lucia and it's open from Tuesday to Sunday. Just a while ago they delivered a new smoothies menu. They also have seasonal bakery, so it's great for people with a sweet tooth. Also dont forget to ask for a frozen horchata!

Friendly, good Taste and fast

after several days of coffee deprivation (a spoiled New Yorker with great coffee shops in abundance) I stumbled upon this place...and it became a twice-a-day stop for me. Excellent coffee (though the same item ordered from different barista's are sometimes yield a slightly different drink), the best Wi-Fi I found anywhere in town, and great music as well. For those who say that it's too small – for meetings and such – I say it's a perfect size for a quiet coffee on your own or with a friend.

I lost my wallet in the place but when I figured it out and returned to the Coffee, the guy attenting give it back to me. Very principled people right there!

Good iced coffee, great sandwiches. I e joyed the panini for breakfast. So-so waffles. Nice vibe.

Great hipster coffee. Pour overs, chemex, siphon brews and cold brews. Lots of outlets, free wifi and relaxed vibe. Fairly small but not a bad place to get work done.

I love eating here. I like the ambience and the staff are all very interesting personalities and very helpful. Definitely my favorite coffee place in el centro.
