Worth a visit! Nice opportunity to learn about a piece of history with well-preserved documents. There is no entrance fee.

I was surprised about the immigration of ~1,000 Koreans in early 1900’s even before the Japanese colonization. We also had a good time chatting with a Korean Mexican descendant there.

The timeline on the wall in the beginning of the exhibition is a great summary. Don’t miss it. If you are into history, you will find it fun to compare different flows of events in Korea, Mexico, and Korean society in Merida and how they intertwine.

My partner and I don’t speak Spanish but still could follow the story using the google image translator and English captions. For me, as a Korean, I could read many documents in old Korean as well, which was very interesting!

Interesting. Did not know the story of Koreans coming to Mexico in the early 1900’s. Nice little museum .

Learned that there are over 10k Korean descendants from 1905 living in the Yucatan, including the nice museum curator who gave us some "mul" in the heat!

Fantastic small museum that is well worth the visit. It documents the history of Korean immigrants in the area with beautiful photography, original documents, and a few physical artifacts The sense of pride, history, and community really comes through. Admission is free but donations are accepted. We spent about an hour taking our time and enjoying the exhibits. A few labels are in English but you will want a Spanish speaker in your group to get the most out of it. It is only a few blocks from the Centro and worth adding to your trip itinerary.

This is a great museum that I highly recommend visiting. It tells the story of Korean immigrants coming to the region more than a century ago and the tough life they had. Quite insightful despite its compact size. A little gem of a museum.

As a Korean, it was very unexpected but surprise eduction on a part of painful history of my nation. Thanks for living hard and all your best KorYuks and also thanks to Gennie for very detailed explanation in English for me.

Unfortunately when I was there today, it is closed for a renovation. I am not sure how long does it takes, but it was completely empty :(
