Beautiful park just blocks from centro. If you're staying on the north side, you can walk past this park every time you're heading to the city center. The park is shaded by beautiful trees, and has 4 restaurants with outdoor seating to relax in the shade.

Tucked in the corner is Ki'Xocolatl - authentic Yucatan chocolate that is a must visit, and the perfect place to get some gifts for friends and family when you get back home. Also Grab a few photos at the Sillas gigantes (giant kissing chairs) or wait to get those down in the centro by the Merida sign.

One of the favorite things we did was the free walking tour with Gabriel that starts here. This is a great way to see the highlights of the city, the history and a few of Gabriel's favorite places all in 2 hours. Please take my word for it - do this on your first day and you'll feel like you got the insider tour - https://www.freewalkingtourmerida.mx/.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, Yucatecan Serenade, an open-air dance with live music, has been held weekly on Thursday night at 9:00 pm since 1965 right here (now you know what the stadium bench seating is for). Please take my word for it... this is the place to be on Thursday. Locals and travelers alike attend this event and it is always amazing and it is always busy. Get there at 8:00 pm (or earlier) to get a seat at this free event, because it is the place to be! The regional music was played by a full band, and some of the songs were accompanied by traditional dancers.

You don't want to miss this on your visit!

Great cultural event on Thursday nights for free. Come early if you want a seat, also many restaurants around the square take reservations, but they are all quite pricy.

Old historic area of Merida, MX. Plenty of food in the immediate area, safe day or night. Coffee too. This is a wonderful town! Many folks of Maya descent. It is the Capitol of the Yucatan.

Excellent central point in Merida. There are tons of restaurants and shops around. Local tours usually start in the park and are well worth it. It's a really lively area - good for people watching! It's also good to just have a seat and take in the beauty of the centro.

Great place to hangout. Several restaurants, little pricey but good food everywhere. Make sure you ask if there are discounts, we got our drinks half price at the Soberana patio.

The food preparation was great. The portions were more than adequate. The service was excellent. Knowing we were tourists, our server took time to ensure we understood the menu. This is a perfect place for an evening dinner. The price was more than reasonable.

Great place for people watching. There are 3 restaurants that share the area; from an upscale "apaola" to a pizzeria inspired locale. Food and drinks were great at any of the restaurants.

We just love this park, the restaurants and the people. Thursday evenings at 9 there is an hour long program of singing and dancing in full colored costumes. It is free and there are chairs and bleachers but ppl get there starting around 7:30 to get seats. If you reserve restaurant seating... The food is awesome at Avec Amour, Bryan's or any of the places. We've never had a bad meal. Go, enjoy. You'll be glad that you did.

Great for dining. A number of restaurants. For me, Apoala is the best. Rosa's Sur 32 is second on my list. Don't go on Thursday nights. There is a band there. Nice, but deafening, you can't hear anyone across the table. Eat somewhere else on Thursday and then walk to Santa Lucia for music afterwards.

We went for the free concert, they had a lot of chairs and the place has restaurants that offer such a great ambiance.

This is a nice small park with different restaurants around it but the really big attraction is the Regional dance, singing and poetry show that they do on Fridays

While away the hours sitting and sipping in Santa Lucía Park. It is a wonderful place to people watch, listen to music, buy trinkets, enjoy the sunshine, and have a great meal.

Cozy and greenery park from few block of plaza Gande. On Thursday night 8pm they have traditional Mexican dance ceremony and many people gather for that. Beautiful place to enjoy Merida's night atmosphere.

This park is quaint but lively. There are many great restaurants to pick from lining the square and they seen to have live music regularly. For first time Mérida visitors this park and surrounding restaurants is a must. Also they have marquesitas vendors and that is a Yucatan staple.

Excellent experience. Must come if you love music. Thursdays of "trova yucateca" lovely nights to enjoy with friends, family, girlfriend, boyfriend, wife or husband. A little crowded but definitely worth it
