What a cool and sacred place to enjoy fresh water and nature. Must shower first before enjoying all the beautiful wildlife and natural beauty.

We wanted to visit Ek Balam but ended up only visiting the Cenote Xcanche upon discovering that you have to pay a hefty local tax of around 560 pesos each time you visit one of the many Mayan ruins in Yucatan.
The cenote, however, was definitely worth visiting. The entry fee was 170 pesos, and life jackets or rubber tubes are provided.
Upon paying the entrance at a small booth close to Ek Balam ruins, you need to continue on a dirt track for about 2 km before you reach the Cenote. Families are quite basic but clean. Lockers and changing rooms are available.
The cenote is an open-air sink hole with a small water fall and some tree roots. Quite magical.
We were there on a Wednesday at around 10 am, apart from one couple, we were the only ones.
The stairs down to the water are quite steep. There is a "lifeguard" on duty.

Tried to go to the ruins nearby, but they stop letting people in a 4pm. We got there at 4:05pm. Any case the Cenote was still open and was presently surprised at how great it was. It does have a bathroom, changing facility and shower. The Cenote has an open top and a rope swing. It's pretty big and you aren't required to wear a life jacket. They do have floats available though. This was my favorite Cenote of the trip.

This cenote was amazing! We went on a thursday and cane around 11:30 and there were about 20 people, not much at all!

We paid 100 pesos for parking, and 170 pesos for a ticket into the cenote. For this you are allowed to swim in the cenote all day and use the hammocks.

Really great!

Amazing cenote..one of the best Cenotes in Yucatan. The bike ride from EK Balam is fun as well.
The Mayan restaurant is as well very good.
One of the most authentic Cenotes if been so far

Wonderful cenote right next to Ek Balam. The steep stairs are a challenge too 😁

If you are visiting Ek Balam, do not miss this! It costs 170 pesos to enter. The Cenote is not crowded at all- there were barely 5 people. There is a life guard and life jackets are available too. At the entrance there is a little shop where you can get tender coconut and beer. Do stop there! Its one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever visited.

Such a special place. We went for a swim after visiting the Ek Balam site (it is in the same place, but a sizable walk or small ride away - you can rent a bicycle or catch a chuk), very big and quiet with the glorious sound of a waterfall and surrounded with trees that have roots hanging all the way down in the super clear water. Good for water/floating meditation as there is hardly anybody there. Also really enjoyed the wonderful, friendly staff who were ready to chat and explain and welcome us. I think our favourite of all the cenotes.

Water was nice and cool. It had a waterfall and a few options for adventures. You can zipline, which is an additional cost. They had a few jump of points at different levels and a rope you can jump in with. This was so refreshing after lots of walking and climbing the ek balam ruins. The location is very close to the ruins.

Very well equipped and safe. Great for a dip after visiting Ek Balam. The road is rather long, so you'll either need to bring your car from the parking lot their, or rent a bike.

Great cenote to swim and hang out. The day we were there was not very busy, we were the only people there for a while. Nice facilities.

Absolutely delightful and clean cenote. Not tons of people which made it very comfortable. Cool water great for refreshing. Life jackets and float tubes available if you wish. Also Tarzan jump into the water or zipline (100 MXN pesos) - worth bringing $6 USD down to the water. Stairs near the repel set up are super steep and you have to duck in the middle of the staircase due to rock overhang. Definitely worth the $170 MXN to visit here

Great experience and amazing atmosphere. You will reach the Cenote directly from the ruins by bike (they give you free bikes!!). There you can find showers, bathrooms and a small restaurant. The cenote is open, there are stairs to reach the water, you can jump from ropes, or do the zipline , there are also life jacket, float ( not mandatory and free).
The best thing is that you also have a quiet area with free amaca (hammock) in the shadow where you can relax and read a book.
I think this is the best one I have visited ( since it’s the most complete ! )

Beautiful cenote. Clear blue water. Most importantly, nice staff. We missed the last collectivos and it got dark there. A very kind staff, Reyes (who has a big motorbike) helped us to call a taxi, so we don't need to walk to a closest city. A big thanks!

We were not expecting to go to this cenote, but it was worth going to. Capped off a great day. You either walk in or rent bikes. It is around 2 kilometers from the parking lot. When you arrive at the top, you take a shower before anything, bring a towel. There is a zip line, but you pay an additional $50 pesos. You go down the steep stairs to the water that is fantastically clear and refreshing. There are alot of small catfish that avoid you. There is a rope swing free to use and a boardwalk all the way around.
At the top there is a restaurant, hammocks and washrooms.
Overall a very nice place except at the parking lot, there are people there to "help you" and watch your vehicle, but want a tip when you return. They seemed a little shady, we had already moved everything to the trunk before getting there. On the way out they were helping someone change a tire, so it could just be us nervous in a new place.
We spent around 1 hour in the water and left completely cooled off after a hot afternoon. We never tried the restraunt, but they allowed us to use the washroom.

Best cenote ever! If you want to visit one denote during your time in Mexico, visit this one. It's a very quiet place. When I was there, it was only me and later like 5 of us. It's huge! You can zip-line as well and jump from a rope.

Super beautiful! What an experience. Water is freezing but just jumó in you have to do it. There are small catfish in the water too but they don’t touch you or bug you. Really just go in. The walk down to get to it is steep stairs so be very careful and just take your time.

It’s opened cenote right by Ek’balam. If you go to Ek’balam in very sunny day, you’d definitely wanna jump into cool clean water after. You can find a sign really easy from the entrance of Ek’balam and there’s ticket booth. It’s like under 2km, not that far to walk but you can rent a bicycle from the ticket booth for free. The road is pretty bumpy though. Ticket price was 170peso per person including shower and bathroom. Wearing life jacket is not mandatory, This cenote has so many things to do. Two different heights of jump stands, floaters, zip line that you can jump into the water and jump rope. Definitely enjoyed.

This is paradise on earth! The Cenote is big and there are relative few tourists, so plenty of room to jump from the various platforms. Also the water is clear and full of fish. This is the most fun I have had in a long time ❤
