Pancho's

Good food, smaller plates and an absolutely fabulous patio with a fun vibe. The entire restaurant decor is amazing. Our guacamole came with jicama which was a wonderful tasty surprise ! We enjoy ourselves every time we go to Pancho's.

I visited this restaurant on my last night in Mérida and it was by far the best restaurant I went to during my visit. Walking in to Pancho's entrance you are greeted by a large room with many historical murals and glass cases with Mayan items inside. Through there you see the open bar with open seating to the right. There are very few negative things about my visit but I will go over them as I think it's important to see the negatives in an otherwise amazing experience.

The first negative was how, despite there being a menu stand being set up we were not greeted by a host/hostess and instead had to awkwardly walk through the restaurant trying to find a waiter to ask if we needed to seat ourselves or be seated.

However, once seated most everything is positive. The atmosphere is like eating within a jungle with an incredible assortment of plants, lights and tables surrounded by fauna and light bulbs strung from the ceiling. The restaurant seems to go on forever towards the back passing a second bar and into further seating giving it a very ethereal vibe.

Our waiter spoke very good English and attended to us quickly, asking us for drink orders and getting them placed before us within 5 minutes. Another negative was us asking for magaritas with no salt and getting ones with salt, but our waiter had noticed this after grabbing them from the bar and had grabbed us straws before giving us the margaritas which was a very nice fix for a small problem.

The food itself came a little late for my taste (pun intended) but man, oh man, was it worth the wait. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they were absolutely fantastic. The ingredients were fresh, full of flavor and mixed to perfection. Despite the plate being small to medium, it was very filling and I found myself full before even being finished with the last enchilada.

The prices are fair, the margaritas are deliciously mixed and constantly flowing, and the food is fantastic.

My last negative is the existence of a "trough" style men's restroom which I've only really seen at sports stadiums which is strange, but they were very clean.

Overall, the atmosphere and ambience alone is a reason to visit Pancho's. Throw in the delicious food and margaritas and you have the best restaurant I visited during my visit to Mérida.

Great place! It looks really fancy with a beautiful bar and even better patio. They serve nice cocktails! Also the guacamole is good!
We tried 3 types of tacos. For sure the shrimp taco was the best. You should try it. I think this restaurant is mostly visited by tourist. And why not? It’s a good place to go for a drink of dinner.

We had heard this place was very touristy but it looked really cool with lots of art work, so we decided to try it. It was a wonderful experience. The tuna tartare was amazing. Such a wonderful combination of flavors that both stood apart and combined with the other flavors to create a remarkable dish. The tacos were excellent and my wife loved the mojito.

It is a very authentic restaurant, the decoratio, food, drink, service, we loved, we would certainly return.

Three of us went to celebrate a birthday with a meal, drinks and great surroundings. The steak special was something not quickly forgotten. Cooked to my choice of perfection with a side of vegetables and red wine.

This was our second meal here, once in 2018. We recommend this location for a special night or a cooling afternoon sip at the front bar.

The staff speak English and menus are in English.

Pancho's is well worth a visit. From the spacious and intriguing lobby area through the bar / inside dining area and into the intimate yet open courtyard this establishment appeals first to your visual senses. The satisfaction builds from there with attentive yet unobtrusive service and exceptional food quality that delights. We had the house burger - try it, you'll love it - the avocado salad and rib tacos, washed down with ice cold Mexican beer. What can I say? Pancho's delivers on an experience that builds from the moment you walk into the lobby and ends with that warm feeling of complete satisfaction when your expectations have been subtly and clearly exceeded. Mid range price paired with stellar quality, service and ambience. I don't find that combination often, and daresay you don't either.

This review is for the $20 peso main bar. They have a 20 peso menu which includes many drinks and snacks. The snacks are awesome, the beer is cold and the staff is awesome!! Highly recommend!

Dont go there during happy hour(6-9). It was leathal but enjoyable. Not recomended for low alcohol tolerant people ;) Although a good torta cubana there is able to raise your tolerance!

Great food, service, atmosphere!

Nice atmosphere and good coctails. During happy hour they are very reasonably priced. Food is good and plentiful. Visited twice and left in good mood on both ocassions.
