Do not do business with these people under any circumstance! I don’t know this for sure but it seems like they are scheming with the resort to rip people off.

Here’s the whole story if you are interested:

I rented a car from Avis with drop off at this location before 6pm. I got there at 5:30pm and the front gate of the resort told me there weren’t any Avis employees there and they couldn’t let me inside. Knowing I was going to get charged an extra day (at inflated cost) if I didn’t make the drop off then and there, I convinced them to make some calls and eventually they let me inside. I parked the car in front of Avis and the hotel concierge took the keys and responsibility for returning them. All good, right?

Wrong.

Now I find out that it “took the resort a week to return the vehicle” and I was charged $700 for the additional days. When I speak with Avis they just tell me “its your responsibility to return the car” and that they somehow have no responsibility to have an employee on-site during office hours.

That makes no sense and sounds like a scam to me. They knew I was returning the car shortly before close and conveniently had no one there? The resort took the keys and somehow “forgot” to return them for a week? I really don’t think so. And my experience with their supposed customer service reps confirms this terrible pattern of behavior.

I read the other reviews on here and I cannot stress enough to STAY AWAY.

We rented a vehicle on January 8th and everything went fine. The contract provided a specific price in US dollars for the rental, but they added an additional charge that I was told would be refunded. That refund never happened and I was not aware until returning home. I called AVIS and was told I had to deal with the people back at the resort to resolve the issue. AVIS just lost my business. There are a lot of other options out there, don't trust these people at the AVIS counter at the Secret's resort, they are completely unethical.

AWFUL! Customer attention, service, etc. were at a level where any less of them and they would not be in business at all. But they are the only game at that location!. Hours are 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.. We asked for a car ... none available for next 4 days! . Asked for it for 9:00 a.m. --- "That is early! I do not get here till about 9:20". Eventually agreed for 09:00. When we got there at 8:55 a.m..... not open yet with sign stating "will return at 9:20"! When returned, agent started serving another couple (had arrived after us), without even looking at us. When done about 9:40... told that it would be another 40 minutes to get a car at the location and the agent vanished, coming back at 10:20 with a car. Then as she was completing paperwork, she started working with yet another client ignoring us. Finally able to leave about 10:45. So much for our long and involved daylight drive. Could not do it as planned.

Service was terrible . went to rent a car lady told us she needed time in advance at least 2 hours . asked her to have a car ready in 2 hours she said it would be difficult that she needs a day in advance . had to convince her to do her job
