El Viejo Rosario

No wonder this restaurant appears to be in the list of best in Puebla. Also you can tell a restaurant is good when is not full of tourists and instead locals are there. The service was impeccable, very kind, it also helped so much for a tourist that the menu was full of images so it made it easier to order. Everything we had was delicious, the marimba (rack of ribs) with mole poblano was finger licking good.

Probably not handicap friendly since the washrooms are upstairs, but the decor was great for pictures. I think it becomes a bar at night, lunch service was extremely quick. Will come back next time.

Love this restaurant! I’m here for a week for business and I’ve eaten here twice in 4 days because its so delicious. Adrian on the wait staff made me feel welcome and helped me with the huge amount of menu items, I had chiliquiles for dinner delicious next time I had mole poblano. Yummy! Best chicken I’ve eaten in Mexico don’t miss this place, its a former palace and has loads of ambiance, Dolores keeps it super clean, thank you for the photo!

I visited this in a jam-packed Sunday afternoon. Simple yet tasty food was served surprisingly soon. A wide assortment of peppers, salsas and seasonings (including parmesan gratin) will accompany whatever food you order. For its low price, you get a good bang for your buck

A bit dangerous to reach this place, however is well know that good things are always hidden, amazing design, loving the 2nd floor.
If you’re looking for Mexican food, highly recommend. Tbh I didn’t even know that you can cook different versions till I came here, amaaaazziiinggg ✨good portions and great service

Big restaurant in a traditional Spanish home. Prices are VERY good and food is great! Make sure you get a seat on the upper level if you can or at least have a visit upstairs to see the beautiful sunroof! I ordered the chamorro with traditional mole poblano. Delicious! Every visitor to Puebla should make a stop here if they can!

Enchilada 3 mole was so tasty, loved the mole poblano, combo of sweetness of the chocolate and the spice of the chili is a winner

Wow. This place is so good I even forgot to take a photo. I’m not sure how to put it, it’s simply delicious Mexican food done right. And the price is unbelievably cheap. Ticks all the boxes and most definitely my favorite recent find. Don’t miss it.

Very nice place, me and some other friends from England enjoyed the meal, plus the staff was so friendly, great prices and variety!! Highly recommend it for local and traditional food!! One of my favorite restaurants in Puebla!!

Great mole and cheap!! Worth the walk away from the center for the enchiladas with mole!! Great affordable dessert menu too!! Will definitely be heading back for more!! 🤤

This restaurant had great food and good service :) Although our check did take a while to come after we asked for it. The atmosphere is really nice, especially if you get to sit on the second floor. It's a nice place if your looking for lunch or dinner in Puebla.

Excellent food ! The decor is beautiful. Big restaurant with a very comfortable atmosphere. I highly recomend it. There are small simpler versions throughout downtown Puebla called " el capricho. It is worth it to go to the main restaurant which is "el viejo Rosario". The bathrooms are gorgeous too!! Enjoy - Provecho!!
