Ajijic Tango

We shared a beautiful five course meal including empanadas, octopus, steak salad, spinach and cheese stuffed chicken and delicious chocolate lava cake for dessert. Each course was fresh, well seasoned, and served at just the right intervals. We were extremely happy with our dining experience.

Stopped by for lunch. My cousins said it is their favorite place. Now I know why. The food is absolutely delicious. Combine good ingredients and unique recipes and you get Tango. I started with provolone cheese and chorizo sausage and that set a good tone. Menu was in both English and Spanish and the prices reasonable. There was a crowd and a wait the whole time we were there.

Fabulous food, great service, welcoming atmosphere

Tango is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Ajijic. Located just a stone's throw from the lake, it's one of those places that's 'just so.'

Service is attentive, friendly, and frankly excellent. The food is outstanding, especially the carpaccio, which I would say is the best in town.

We have visited a few times and the quality has varied slightly which is normal of any restaurant but it gives you a real restaurant experience. When we go out to dinner we want to feel like we're really having a special experience. Anyway the servings are generous, the bread is wonderful, which is a tip-off of every restaurant according to my mother. We've enjoyed every meal we ordered. Prices are reasonable if not a little lesser than most other comparable restaurants. You're right on the malecon entrance, so it's very pleasant to walk out of the restaurant and go for a stroll. There's parking diagonally across from the entrance right on the shores of the lake.

Raquel (Rachel) waited on us and her service was TOP NOTCH. Jaime and Glenda took us there twice. We are SO impressed with the Flavors. I had a Pasta Trio, with Pesto and Alfredo and a slice of Lasagna: ALL flavorful. The Modelo Especial was ICE cold and served in a Chilled frosted glass. We have back at least once a week while we remained. Here and we are about to exit Ajijic for home in mid Feb 2024. Also, being that we are also from the Hospitality Business, the Management KNOWS how to keep people happy as the Service was The Best. And, no we are visitors, and not affiliated with the Tango Rest. Updated 10 Feb 2024: We have tried the TRIPLE PASTA dish and the Meat sandwiches, as well as the Sausage Sandwich. ALL great and perfectly cooked. The Servers and their Bussing Guys and Gals are SUPER attentive, never leave a done plate sit for long and refill our water regularly. Overall, this is our NUMBER ONE RESTAURANT in Ajijic. Super nice place for supper. The steaks are wonderful. Many options from seafood, chicken to pasta. Servers are very attentive. Had a wonderful time and highly recommended

I got a table by the window and could see the lake and people watch. They have a full bar. Frangelica hit the spot. The rolls are so fresh; yummy. The restaurant is well liked by locals and epats. Staff is attentive to give good service. I had stuffed chicken breast. It was stuffed with spinach. You choose your sauce, I had Alfredo over it. You get a choice of 1 side; the mashed sweet potatoes was delicious. Enjoy!!!

My Mom and I went to Tango with some friends last week(June 2021). They were quite busy but the place flowed like a well oiled machine. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I got the Grilled Octopus with the Garlic and mushrooms..I think it's the best Octopus I've ever had. Even my Mom was floored with the tenderness and flavor..it was truly amazing! Our friends ordered the beef carpaccio which was a hit..but they come here frequently. I got the 17oz Rib eye..it was perfectly cooked and the flavor was amazing. Great food and drinks with great service. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great place by the lake. Excellent lunch specials from 12:30-1:30 only but worth timing it out. Salmon, pollo or arachara pepito $95p. Habla Ingles

Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. The waiter and waitress that we had both spoke English which was a huge help since we were tourists. The menu has both Spanish and English and they accept credit cards. We loved that we could sit outside and watch the goings-ons of the street. We had a group of 8 (called ahead to see if they could accommodate us, of course) and there was something on the menu for everybody. All the meat, every side, every cocktail was cooked and prepared perfectly. I had the chicken breast with parmesan sauce and veggies. I loved it.

Pretty nice restaurant in ajijic..the food is delicious and the waiters are super amiable and friendly.the restaurant is also cool to hang out on weekends they have a bar 🍸. This place was amazing. The food was top notch they spoke English very well. Overall beat steak and Salmon we have had anywhere.

Great service and great food! We stopped for what we thought was going to be a late lunch, it almost turned into dinner! So worth the wait, though. Definitely make a point of stopping here if you're ever in Ajijic!

Wow. I'm about a block away from this restaurant and read about it this afternoon. After talking to my brother about dinner plans, we decided to go here. What an amazing decision! The space is great! It's inside but outside too. You walk into the building but there is a treated thatched roof the exposes parts of the ceiling to the elements. It's really great! The staff is incredible. Very attentive and friendly. I loved our waitress but sadly I don't remember her name. We had the parillada, which is 5 different meats brought to your table on a small grill. It was delicious! But we started with the grilled octopus, loved it! But again, the parillada was so so good! It's almost too much for two but great for three, I would think.
I highly recommend this restaurant. I think I'll be going back before I leave for home in a couple of days!

All good here, Rib eye was spectacular. Service excellent and looking out on the lake topped it off.

Good food and service. They quickly get water and delicious bread on the table soon after being seated. The spinach salid was wonderful. The spaghetti was good. Reasonable prices. They take debit card.

I don't know how they did it... nobody is Argentine in the kitchen... but the empanadas and chimichurri were the most similar to the ones I've had those in Argentina outside of Argentina. Delicioso!
