Their bratwurst, salmon, and sides are authentic and delicious, and the weizen is unsurpassed. What a treat!

Nice low-key German restaurant with good authentic-ish German food

Set back off the main Carretera, Johanna's is one of those restaurants that's easy to miss if you're just driving past.

With a nice outdoor seating area and a warm, friendly welcome, the atmosphere is actually more Latin than German. Nevertheless, the beer selection is good and the dishes on offer are actually far more authentic than I've found in a lot of places.

Prices are fair for what's on offer and this restaurant is definitely worth a look if you have a taste for Wurst or Schnitzel.

It was our first time here. The food was fantastic! Service was very friendly. We will definitely return in the future. They have indoor seating and really cute seating as well out in the front and back of restaurant. There is easy Street parking like 95-98% of the time. Even thought it was our first time there, every time we've driven by, I've always seen spots, might be a little harder on Wednesday since the Tiangis is close by, but still very highly possible to find.

Wonderful food and art. Very adorable cat. Love the choices of spreads with the bread. Won't lie, love the owners attitude towards bad reviews as well.

Super good experience it was a wonderful surprise to find authentic German food in the middle of Ajijic

First time at the restaurant, and we loved it! We were greeted warmly, the bread and various sauces arrived immediately so our meal began with no waiting. We ordered the salmon and the schnitzel and thought they were both excellent. Service was friendly and efficient, the whole experience was excellent. It's a charming place; we'll be back.

Great experience dining at Johanna's. Food was wonderful! We had the shrimp dish and the chicken schnitzel. We also shared a dessert (rum cake). Everything was delicious and priced right. The owner came out to check on us and the wait staff were absolutely wonderful. My husband has mobility issues. there is a slight incline to get to the sitting area and the owner made sure he had one of his staff members help us to our car!! We will be back soon! Thank you for exceptional food and service!

The food is great, the service is very good, and the place looks really nice, I'm definetely coming back, the plates are greatly served and at a fair price

Very tasty German food and good service as well. Outdoor and indoor seating available with plenty of street parking.

We had wine and delicious desserts in the jardin....away from the road noise and kitchen. Danish Rum cake with almonds and Austrian chocolate cake. Homemade! And homemade light whipped cream sauce. We love the owners painting of Europe, too.

Great place, excellent service, tasty food.

From the welcoming service they bring at your table almost as soon as you arrive with bread and some spreads (butter, a couple of spicy ones, mustard and a sweet pinky one that tasted really good), to the great flavor of their cook that's also served in a very reasonable amount of time, good beverages and desserts (ask for the Viennese Chocolate Cake), this is a Must Visit place in Ajijic.

They accept credit/debit card and cash.

Plus, If you're always the main course for mosquitoes, don't worry, the restaurant gives you a repellent that not only works like a charm but also doesn't smells bad.

Also, there's a lovely blonde cat that visits you from time to time at your table.

I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

What a delicious find! Our party had Wienerschnitzel, a lamb burger, sausage plate, and grilled trout for lunch. Every meal was wonderful even with such a variety of food. Highly, highly reccomended!!!

The food is delicious and not expensive vs the taste , flavour and gourmet...
the escargots you have to try as well as the Lamm(Lamb) it is a must visit if you are in la Floresta (Betwen Chapala and ajijic closer to Ajijic)

If you enjoy German beers and foods you will really enjoy the experience of trying a variety of their beverages and dishes. Very nice attention and atmosphere.

everything is great but you have to come hungry because is a lot of food,reasonable prices, nice service if you want something different and tasty definitely an option
