Nice poolside setting, decent service, excellent food

With its courtyard layout, and its tables clustered around the central pool, Yves' Restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that's instantly likable.

Service is friendly and efficient, and the food on offer is tasty and prepared to a high standard.

Pro-Tip: The setting lends itself particularly well to enjoying a beverage or two on a warm, sunny afternoon.

Such a gorgeous setting for a restaurant. Had the rib eye steak, very well seasoned and tasty. My wife had the chicken in mushroom and brandy sauce. Big portion, with lots of mushrooms. A very delicious dish. The owner Yves, a very nice man, spends a lot of his own money helping helping numerous animal...give what you can!!!!

I have a lot of good things to say about our first dining experience at Yves. We came for dinner and were immediately impressed by the unique and a little bit quirky and fun grounds. The restaurant is mostly outdoors. There were 2 donkeys grazing off to the side of the ding area, and plenty of entertaining donkey art all over. There is a large fountain pool area that adds to the relaxing vibe. There is plenty of seating spread out with a bit of a casual back yard feeling.

Then there is the menu and the food. Our menus were in English and had lots of variety including vegetarian options. We ordered and all our meals came with salad bar included. Everything was very fresh and well presented. Our entrees arrived shortly after our salads and the first thing we were impressed by was the portion size and presentation. The chicken fajitas could have fed 2 people easily and were delicious. My wife had the vegetarian lasagna and enjoyed it very much - and she is picky! My daughter ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo and said it was excellent. Everyone had extra food to box up for later.

What a great find. I will recommend and return!!

It is a very pleasant place to have a meal. I love the garden, the water feature, and watching the donkeys grazing. I'm just sorry I forgot to bring the carrots for them. The salad bar was very fresh and tasty with real blue cheese dressing. The bread and butter served with the meal was the best I've had in Mexico. It tasted like it just came out of the oven. The sea bass almondine was good. It was supposed to be in a white wine sauce, but I did not see or taste the sauce, just a lot of almond slivers. I ordered the shrimp as an add on. Wow, the best shrip I have had in Mexico. They taste like rock shrimp, so rich and tasty. I could not eat the french fries. Like most places lakeside the fries are just not good enough to eat. The vegetables, broccoli and carrots, were fine. The Margarita was a little sweet for my taste, but others might not think so.

Delightful setting around the former pool of an old inn in Ajijic. The pool is now a centerpiece of the outdoor dining area - with multiple fountains, providing a giant bird bath for finches, sparrows, hummingbirds and other species. The owner supports a local Animal Rescue Organization, and the grounds provide a comfortable home for two white burros - Vino Blanco and Pepe, at least one cat, and a delightful Pit Bull named Rocky who will redirect you if you go to your table without using the designated paths...🤗 The food, service and ambience are all exemplary. We enjoyed cocktails of Kir Royales and Chivas Regal, their salad bar, Shrimp Fajitas, Chicken Breast in a Brandy Cream Sauce with Mushrooms, Au Gratin Potato and steamed vegetables. For dessert we enjoyed their Peanut Butter Chocolate Tart and their Lemon Tart. Everything was great, and we look forward to returning soon and often, especially since Yves is in walking distance of our new home here in Ajijic.

My in-laws took us to Yves today for our first time, and it was honestly one of my favorite dining experiences of my entire life. The food was incredible (all of it!), and we tried a lot of different things. Chips and pico, queso fundido, steak fajitas (best I’ve ever tasted!), Aztec soup, shrimp taco salad, chicken taquitos… wow to all of it. The mango margarita was clearly made from fresh mango and was so good! The sangria was delicious! I think my favorite part of being there was the atmosphere. Leaving the bustling city for a relaxing, beautiful, delicious meal at an easy pace that is perfect for spending quality time together with family. The owner is so kind, and Manuel, our server was terrific. We especially loved the fresh avocados that fell from the tree above our covered table, and the sweet donkeys that we got to pet and feed carrots. Today was such a dream😍

We visited Yves for breakfast on our first morning in Ajijic..we were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival. The atmosphere of this place is amazing. Beautiful set around the pool (for the outside diners) and with a great breakfast menu that would satisfy any tastes. Yves himself sat and talked with us for about 30 minutes, discussing his wonderful project of rescuing burros and dogs. Two of his burros arrived as we were having breakfast. I know enough about drinking venues to also know it would be a wonderful place to meet up in the evening for a drink with friends. The art adorning the walls is worthy of a visit in its own right, but the totality of the package, which included a great atmosphere, warm and friendly reception and very good food make this a 5 star visit for my money.

Yves is one of the best restaurants in West Ajijic... Great ambience, great service, great food and portions and their meals include a great salad bar... Also their menu has ample choices and their meals and drinks are very reasonably priced... Highly recommend it to everyone who visits down here .... Recommend tessellations, especially for dinner...

The Club sandwich was the best I've ever had, the bread was artisan, all of the sandwiches filings were delicious and loaded. We met Yves, he speaks 3 languages and is wonderful, the free homemade Bailey's was FABULOUS!

This lovely place has moved up to my top favorites in Ajijic. The garden is so beautiful with it's pool, plantings, and, of course, the mules. The food was delicious. I had tortilla soup and ham & and cheese wrap. The service was superb, and the price was not terrible. It's a little higher than some but well worth it.

We had 24 people for a late afternoon birthday party. The table was ready, the salad bar was wonderful and with a choice of five entrees, meals were presented very timely and delicious. They allowed me to bring in a cake with no upcharge and gave out a glass of free champagne. Everyone had a great time thanks to Yve. Beautiful setting too!

Outstanding ambience and one of the best taco, ground beef, salads I have ever had.
This is a MUST restaurant if you are in the Ajijic area.
Oh, did I mention their Mexican coffee is a "killer" dessert.

A super cute place with fun artwork for sale. The food was yummy (I had the chicken quesadilla) and the drinks were good as well. The staff were all nice and spoke English well. Decently priced! They finished off our meal with some free delicious homemade kahlua.

This was our second visit to Yve's. First was for dinner on the day we arrived to live here in México. I remember that dinner was excellent and that they had a salad bar. We were in such a fog of happiness and exhaustion!

This visit was for breakfast. We sat outside under a shade canopy with a view of the lovely pool and fountain. Service was fast, friendly, and our waiter spoke excellent English. Menu was translated from Spanish so there were a couple of odd things - still wondering what divorced eggs are. I had a beautiful plate of chilaquiles verdes with eggs, which were cooked perfectly. My husband's omelette was generous and came with a hash brown pattie, bacon, and toast. Our bill for 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees - 250 pesos.
