Santa Prisca de Taxco

The church is amazing inside. The surrondings are good and there are a lot of good restaurants.

What a beautifully designed church. It is the heart of the town. Beautiful Inside and out. Once inside everywhere you lay eyes on you see intricate designs. The silver Virgen de Guadalupe is life size and is a testament of Taxco being the capital of silver of Mexico. I know you can ask about climbing the towers to get a view of the city, we visited while they were doing baptisms and didn’t know who to ask but if you have the chance definitely do it!

What a beautiful place! One of the most beautiful churches in México. It's definitely worth the trip there. So many nice views and so much history.

Gorgeous plaza. Highly recommended to go up the church tower for awesome views of Taxco. We’ll worth the MX$50 and 100+ steps!

It’s currently undergoing maintenance repairs but it’s quite beautiful. It used to be the tallest structure in Mexico for some time

Amazing place, perfect to buy silver, real silver. Beautiful town, the church is breathtaking. Be ready to walk and spend some serious pesos here. Many restaurants, stores, bars and plenty of streets to explore.

We absolutely loved this town. Such a great colonial city. The Church was beautiful but the scenic views of this city is what sets it apart from any city in Mexico.

Beautiful church in its own style. Unfornately, construction was being done when we visited last week, so we could not appreciate it. The church is located in Taxco Zocalo. If you go down the same street, you will find great wooden items, ceramics, and souveniers. Do not miss it.

Beautiful church. Visited during Semana Santa and it was very crowded. But also worth it.

The 50 pesos ticket to get to the top of the tower is worth it for the view!

Taxco is a must go destination. The park out front is the center of activity

Un obligado. La iglesia de Santa Prisca es un exquisito ejemplo de la arquitectura barroca novohispana en cantera rosa. Financiada gracias al impulso económico de la actividad minera durante mediados del siglo XVIII.

A must to visit. Santa Prisca’s church is an exquisite representative of the New Spain’s architecture during its baroque period using pink quarry stone. It was financed thanks to the economic progress achieved by the mining activity over the middle XVIII century.

So many details can take an entire afternoon to admire.

Unlike most churches who are funded directly by the local town and it's government this one was funded esclusively by one man. He gave back to God with this church.
