We bought our unique wedding bands here; the owner was very gracious and knowledgeable. His family history goes far back in Merida and in silversmithing. We are very happy with our purchase...we're definitely going back on our next trip!

Got this nice piece of silver with the Mayan calendar. I recommend this place to people who want to feel that they can trust the seller. The owner was serious, did not negotiate and was knowledgeable about silver in general since he works with it directly. Also, he spoke good English and was amicable.
After going through all these touristy shops, I was very happy when I found a place that I felt I could trust.

I have been coming to see Miguel for over 10 years now on my annual trip to Merida. He is the most talented silversmith and gracious store owner I’ve met. His knowledge of local history is bountiful and his store is full of incredibly beautiful, well detailed pieces.
The silver is 0.980 not 0.925 so it’s more pure and doesn’t tarnish easily.
Here are just a few of the pieces I’ve purchased over the years. I only travel with a few each year.

I walked into Miguel’s shop and just started looking around. He waited patiently as I walked around the store and as soon as we started talking I knew I was in for a treat. He was so kind and his passion for working with silver was evident. He is extremely talented and will tell you how each piece is made and how certain designs were improved by his grandfather and his father. You really must stop in his shop. It was just such a delight to talk to him. It’s not cheap jewelry because it is pure silver and handcrafted but the prices are fair ($50 USD for earrings and $250usd for a necklace) I thought I had just walked in to look but I walked out with earrings and an intricately crafted necklace. I cannot recommend this place enough. Please stop by and support a local talented silversmith.

Silver is a must in Mexico and Miguel is the go-to for the best in Merida.Since the late 1800s his family has produced quality pieces to last through the ages.

While they carry an enormous selection, the nicest things here are made by Miguel himself. My wife wanted to get me a bracelet, but I have big wrists. So he showed us a large, heavy silver cuff of his own design.

Today was my first time in the shop and Miguel was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoyed hearing about his work as a silversmith. I purchased a small, perfectly smooth silver ring that is very beautiful!

What a lovely, lovely store! Just like the jewelry here, Miguel is an absolute gem. There is so much talent and beauty crafted in these pieces. If you want a true souvenir that you will cherish for years, then I strongly recommend that you treat yourself to some silver jewelry from here. I cannot stop staring and smiling at the silver ring I purchased here! My partner also bought a silver ring and it looks just as stunning. The prices were very fair too. This place is definitely worth a visit.

I did a bit of research and read the great reviews about this place before visiting Merida. The store is filled with all kinds of gorgeous and unique silver delights. The owner Miguel was nice as can be, explained everything very clearly and did not pressure or hover at all. I bought a beautiful necklace for a very reasonable price that I will cherish forever. I highly recommend this place. Sadly, after leaving here we got scammed by someone else who lured us into a "Mayan coop store" and ripped us off. Be careful of any locals who casually chat you up on the street and tell you how you just HAVE to go to this store because starting tomorrow it will be closed down for renovations for 2 weeks or something of that sort. They are scamming you! Uxmal de Taxco will not scam you. This place is the real deal. If you're in the market for anything silver on your trip this place is a must! You will leave feeling really good about shopping there, I promise.

World class silver jewelry! Everything hand-crafted and carefully measured to fit your needs. We were met by the owner, Miguel, who was very kind and attentive to show us all his signature pieces. We purchased many beautiful pieces that will surely last for generations. Another review of Uxmal de Taxco said they dreamt of returning; I now know why! He also crafts in .98 silver, which he told us is a lost art. Definitely worth the splurge if you enjoy silver jewelry and happen to visit Mérida.

This store is more of an art lesson or perhaps a lesson in the art of the silversmith. Don Miguel Peon comes from a family of giifted artists. His work draws from Mayan influences and is of the utmost craftsmanship.
We felt like we had entered a special sanctuary dedicated to offering us a treasured gift from the Yucatan.
It is worth the trip to meet Don Miguel if you buy nothing and have no interest in silver. He is a special soul one encounters only if they are the lucky ones.
This store was the highlight of eight days in Merida.

Stopped in on a whim and what a delight! I bought earrings, a ring and a pair of studs, such high quality and craftsmanship. Señor Miguel is wonderful and made the shopping experience wonderful.

THE place to go, an absolute must if you’re in Merida and looking for the best jewelry, with the kindest owner. Miguel is a real artisan of his craft and a lovely conversationalist!

If you are looking for a bargain, this is not your place. If you are looking for a gentleman, who comes from a traditional family of silversmiths who can educate you about the history of silver in Mexico, then you will not be disappointed. We learned more in two hours, even after collecting Taxco jewelry for years, than we could ever expect. Purchased some hand-made chains to work with some prior purchases. This is a must stop for travelers just to see what he and his family has created over decades. His assistant is also charming. Mr. Dominguez speaks English very well which was very helpful to us. There is no haggling on price.

What an incredible experience! The skill and artisty of his craft is on full display at this wonderful silversmith. If your spanish is not great, like mine, no worries his english is excellent. If I ever have the pleasure of traveling back to Merida it is on my must stop by list.

Amazing shop, I don't even know where to start. Warm welcomes from everyone in the shop. Including the owner who is beyond brilliant and educated about silver and jewelry. He talks from his heart. I bought the most beautiful ring of my life from this store. He told me about how he made it way back in the day with his brother. Such a perfect story behind such a perfect ring. I was so thrilled and bought it on the spot. Not cheap, but as they say.. you get what you pay for. It's now about 6 months since I visited here and bought my ring and the ring was still in perfect condition. No wear on the silver at all. Heres the sad part, I recently lost it in an airport. My heart is actually broken I am so sad to not have it anymore. So sad that the next time I plan to go to Mexico I'm going to ask if he can remake it for me! Hopefully someday I can get my beloved ring back. But thanks Uxmal De Taxco for the amazing ring and the wonderful experience in the shop:) it is truly one of a kind and irreplaceable to me!

Some of the best silver jewelry I have seen on my travels abroad. I bought a magnificent .98 silver bracelet in a traditional Mayan design that was Sr Dominguez's signature piece. Very warm and friendly man willing to work with any client. A must-visit if travelling to Mérida or Mexico to purchase silver goods!

I can hardly wait to visit and purchase again. The owner is very sweet and I bought a bracelet modeled on some of their designs from the 60's. Absolutely the best piece I own and wear it all the time. From what I understand, the silver standard is way above the norm. Viva Merida!
