It is an excellent place to taste authentic Puebla food. The property is old and well decorated, it just needs to be more inclusive for people with disabilities.

Absolutely amazing mole. Located adjacent to the Casareyna hotel, the atmosphere and ambiance is pleasant with some open air seating and other nice seating options. The mole was well balanced and delicious, as were the chalupas and guacamole & chorizo. The beer selection is not great as they carry the standard Mexico macro line-up

Really liked it! Love that they offer the mole sampler and we able to do a vegetarian version for me (perfectly steamed veggies under the amazing sauces). Surprisingly, my favorite thing was the fresh cream that comes with the house salsas.
The salad was nice and Mexican white wine as well. I would gladly return.

Where to begin….. from the minute we arrived, you could tell the service was going to be impeccable. And I was not wrong. We were in town visiting some family and was recommended this place for their CHILES EN NOGADA since they are in season in Puebla, Mexico. They accommodated 6 adults and my little baby boy in a stroller without any fuss. Then we were offered wine by, in my experience, the best sommelier named Alejandro or Alex. He brought us a delicious red wine that paired very well with the Chile en nogada. For those who haven’t had it, let me tell you, it’s the best dish to try for this season. It’s a poblano pepper stuffed with all sorts of fruit (pear, apple, raisins, to name a few) and ground meat. It’s topped off with a walnut sauce and pomegranate on top for added flavor and texture. Sounds a bit weird but your taste buds would love you. The whole table had chiles en nogada and the most cutest thing they do, is they give you a certificate that comes with the chile en nogada and a number so you know how many plates of these they have served this season and which number you were. I was number 43,081. Once done with the main dish, I of course had to have dessert. I ordered a 3 chocolate mouse cake, which was devine, and for the rest of table, they had a sampler dessert where they had everything from rice pudding to strawberry ice cream. Since we were winding down, my boyfriend ordered a rosé champagne. Alex, The sommelier, recommended to have a taste of the strawberry ice cream and then the champagne together in your mouth, and let me just say, this was the best thing ever! After that I had a coffee drink (forgot the name of it) that tasted as if I was sipping on an iced coffee, only this one was spiked 😉. There are so many good things to say about this place that one review doesn’t justify it. You have to actually go and experience it, you will not be disappointed.

This is a great -if not the best- place to try mole. However, every single dish is a must.

The chipotles rellenos were absolutely amazing, with a great smoky flavor and a pretty good panela are definitely one of the best things here.

We were lucky enough to try the escamoles. This is a seasonal dish that is essentially ants eggs with some butter and herbs. One taco of this delicacy may be enough to send you to heaven. A reason why they are called the Mexican caviar.

Overall a great experience that I look forward to repeat very soon.

The food experience in the restaurant for us was the best in Mexico! Thanks so much! The mignon was just SO great with the cheese/chipotle dressing. Kids absolutely LOVED the 4 cheese pasta, the mole was amazing and the guacamole was just delicious. Wonderful place, huge recommendation from me!

One of the best places in Puebla to eat (breakfast, lunch...), nice atmosphere, great service, great music, and ultradelicious mexican dishes.

Stayed at the hotel for a couple of days and had a chance to eat breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Everything we tried was amazing. Their kitchen easily rivals the best restaurants in La Condesa. They specialized in traditional dishes from the area. The service is fantastic and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Just be aware that it does get crowded and reservations are a must (unless you are staying at the hotel).

A must visit restaurant in Puebla for their selection of wines, food n desserts.
We were recommended this restaurant by our food guide in Mexico city and decided to give it a try for lunch. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation since it was a weekday.

Started with a bottle of Rosé which was really smooth and four starters including the Ceviche, tuna salad and chili n cheese stuffed bread along with the local chicken soup with flat noodles. We loved all their dishes and ended our meal with Chocolate Truffle n Gelatina de Rompope which were outstanding.

The pricing of the dishes are on par, lovely ambience and their service is outstanding.

Located in a nicely designed space this restaurant is very good value for the quality of food you get.
Our cocktails were excellent and well made with a nice beaver of alcohol.
Unfortunately the chiles en nogada were out of season so we couldn't try those, but the chicken in mole poblano was a great second choice.
The assortment of dessert was slightly disappointing, but didn't detract too much from the overall experience.

Amazing service and deliciously fresh food! I highly recommend the Mole de joya and the Chalupas de mole. If you're looking for a lighter soup, the poblana soup is absolutely delicious as well. We loved the guanabana mezcal drinks. We were here for the Chile en Nogada but it's not in season. We will be back.

This restaurant is very much a place that has imprinted prototypes of what good fresh, made-from-scratch poblano cooking is in my mind. You’ll see your chulapas coming out onto your plate sizzling; as you bite into it, the texture is so springy and fresh that you can bet it was made from masa minutes ago.

It’s no wonder wonder they seem to be so busy and packed with both locals and visitors to Puebla. Good restaurants are masters at details. Clearly every culinary detail matters to the chef here — down to the quality of the house coffee (fantastic), the fresh bread, the home made tortilla chips, the salsas made from the freshest local ingredients, and not to mention the hand made Talavera plates! They also have very large portions and reasonable prices

Like many Poblano eateries, they are more likely to use hot manteca bread than tortillas for appetizers… the bread is toasted crispy on the outside, warm and chewy inside, accompanying with freshly made salsas sitting on your plates; the fresh bread continuously replenishes as the meal proceeds.

But being bread masters doesn’t mean they aren’t masters of tortilla chips! Their chilaques in mole (basically tortilla chips cooked in mole) was stellar….I don’t know how you can cook tortillas in mole sauce while somehow keeping the tortillas fresh and crispy even when they are drenched in mole.

Speaking of mole…All of mole poblano here is all made from scratch and is exquisite in its smooth and multilayered natural flavors… it’s hard not to judge all future mole as being too salty or overpoweringly sweet, or too greasy after eating here. The restaurant is also a master of texture— how the onions add just a subtle spicy kick to the savory and chocolatey hues of the mole sauce, which you can temper with the fresh avocado. And if there is leftover mole , get that Manteca bread out

Iconic restaurant in Puebla located in a 16th Century building. Recommended by local friend it was amazing experience for a authentic Puebla Mexican food. Also the place has a store selling handmade ceramic utensils which is speciality of the local heritage. Highly recommended. Downtown Puebla has very nice historic Churches if you are interested in history

Guanabana aqua fresca was excellent. Nice wine from Baja by the glass (Icus One). Chistorra and aguachile were both very good. The chistorra came with nopales, fries, guacamole and flour tortillas which you could make really nice little takes with. Mole sampler was a good way to try four of their offerings.

Great Chalupas Poblana as starter and mole poblano de la Abuela Angela as main. Everything was amazing and the mole poblano was perfectly balanced.
Stunning location and super attentive service. The restaurant is highly recommended for a great food experience in Puebla at a balanced price.
