MÍA Bacalar Luxury Resort & Spa

What an amazing experience! One of the most beautiful resorts we’ve ever been to and we have been all over the place. We are aqua plus members of Mia reef in Isla Mujeres and we’ve already been there 10 times in the past two years so we wanted to check out Bacalar. I wish we had come sooner.

Everything was phenomenal! From the reception, to the housekeeping, to the quality of the food, the location and the restaurant. They are worthy of their five star classification. The actual city of Bacalar is beyond words in beauty. The lagoon is gorgeous and we felt very safe the entire time.

We love Mia Reef because of the way they make you feel like family ( love you Israel, Moises, Cesar, Peeta, Abby, Roberto etc…we aren’t cheating on you and we will see you soon! Lol) so we wanted to see the treatment here at Bacalar, and we were not disappointed.

Total attention to detail and amazing service. We even saw one of our friends that works at Mia Reef in Isla Mujeres (Lilith) here at Mia Bacalar and her and my wife couldn’t be separated out of conversation. That’s how close we have gotten to everyone in the Mia family.

Manuel, Eric and Alfredo were our servers most of the time and they are top-notch! Manuel even helped us rent jet skis that they brought right to the dock. We will certainly be bringing our entire family here very soon.

We love being Mia members, and it was one of our best financial decisions. We can’t wait till they open up more locations.

This Hotel is amazing! Its beautiful with wonderful service. I’ve been here twice already this year and their care is phenomenal. I love the attention to detail in the bungalows and the overall layout is perfect for the tranquility of the lagoon. My family and I love this place.

We kayaked here from our Airbnb to get some margaritas overlooking the lagoon. We were greeted as soon as we pulled the kayaks onto the pontoon and sat down in front of the lagoon. We then tried what was the BEST mojito and passion fruit margarita of all time. Nathan was the incredible talent behind these. After the beautiful drinks we had to order another two to enjoy from the pontoon floating on the water. Nathan came out and offered to make us more if we wanted to go into the water and enjoy. He was the most friendly and well spoken person we’ve met in our travels across Mexico. We learnt so much about the culture and Bacalar with him - he simply made our day! Thank you Nathan for making this so special

Wow. Just wow. One of the most beautiful places on earth. The staff (Ronald, Carlos, Manuel) are amazing. The rooms are gorgeous. The restaurant is fantastic. The service was impeccable. The grounds need some rehab but they are working on it. Highly recommend this place. The breeze, the lagoon, the sounds of the birds… this is truly paradise. You want perfection stay at home. If you want true paradise and perfection…come here.

Excellent property and the service/people are extremely nice and friendly. Highly recommend. It is a ways from the town but it's quiet and relaxing . Rooms are great. Rent a car and you are all set for adventuring.

What a lovely, small resort right on the shores of the Laguna. It feels like luxury without being pretentious.
The room was truly luxurious, impeccably clean with a huge shower and bathtub, double vanity, and extremely comfortable bed. We accidentally walked in on the staff cleaning our room on our second day and got to see first hand how utterly thorough they were.
There is a lovely small pool with plenty of chairs/beds and a gorgeous view of the Laguna. The swings in the shallows are a cute touch.
The resort is a ten minute drive from the town so you don’t feel stuck to the resort campus. This was our first real experience at a resort and it has set our standard!

Had a fantastic visit to Mia Bacalar. I highly recommend a stay here.

The property is absolutely beautiful. The service was great. The food was wonderful down at the main restaurant, with a beautiful view across the lake. There are hammocks and chairs to lay out on. There are jet skis to play on.

The spa was equally wonderful. I recommend some time in the sauna and then a quick dip in the small cold pool they have right next to it for a true sauna experience.

It was a great way to spend a weekend and I look forward to coming back.

Truly a paradise on earth. Plenty of staff in every function. Superb chef with a huge range of dishes using local ingredients, often picked from the garden. Kayaks included. Occitane jacuzzi experience included.
The room was spotless, and bed was a dream.
The bar above reception showed all the World Cup matches with staff on hand to provide drinks and bring a 3-course meal from the restaurant.
A pool, hammocks on the dock, huge amount of local flora and fauna in the garden.
The whole team were polite and on the ball. You could WhatsApp reception and get a response at any time.
What else could you ask for?

Customer service was amazing from the minute we walked in. We had a late check in they made us feel like we where the first people of the day , this place was exactly what we expected . Beautiful location, the landscaping and the maintenance of this place perfect . Very low key and clean. The food and the hospitality a 10+

If I needed only one word to describe my experience in Mia, it would definitely be Perfection!
Probably one of the best in Mexico, if not the best!
We stayed for two nights, that unfortunately were rainy, but thanks to the great amenities in the room, and generally in the hotel, along with the amazing staff that is always there to help, the rain was the least of our concerns.
Due to the fact that not many guests were staying during the time we were there, the whole experience felt boutique and special.
We felt like every staff member already recognize us and was really there for us to fulfill anything that we wanted!
The service at the Spa was also super!!

Me and my fiancé had an amazing time here. It is July and quite windy, but it was a great escape from the heat in Playa del Carmen. Highly recommend, service is too notch and detailed.

Clean, the food is great wit the sub chef Ricardo. Don't forget to ask for Alfredo, Macario and Uziel. My favorite person was SARA life saver.

Only ate breakfast at the restaurant as we stayed at a nearby Airbnb and could kayak to the resturant. Would recommend the food and service was excellent. Had some great local breakfast food (Sopes were amazing!)
