Cuna Merida

Great restaurant hidden on the second floor of a seemingly gorgeous hotel. My Huevos Motuleños, a traditional Yucatecan breakfast dish consists of fried eggs served on a tortilla topped with a layer of refried black beans, tomato sauce, peas, ham, and cheese, had rich flavors and a vibrant presentation!

Had breakfast here several days including Sunday brunch. Everything is beautifully presented. Inside and the balcony are both gorgeous. On the weekends it can be really busy. We witnessed a lot of birthday celebrations and it does feel special. Walk around the hotel too, the inside stairs are magical.

Been here for breakfast a few times but it was my first dinner experience here. Guess what? It was equally good. Ordered the shrimp taco, pork milanese and a ginger cocktail. Everything was delicious. Big portions. The manager was friendly and chatty. I'll definitely return.

We love getting breakfast at Cuna. It’s on the second floor of the Wayam Mundo Imperial hotel. We tried huevos rotos, enchiladas con salsa verde and chilaquiles con salsa pinta (mixed roja and verde sauce). Juices are naturals, no sugar added and made at the moment. Price is friendly and service so special.

Review January 2023. We’re back and not disappointed. Still same great atmosphere and great taste. I tasted the Dalgona coffee and their omelette of tocino, their breads changes every day (each day is great too) … we had one afternoon hummus and OH MY GOOOSH… so good. Their drinks are great too ;) specially the Cuna 308.

Restaurant in a hotel. Fast and friendly service. Drinks were tasty and food was very filling and a good portion. Ordered the Mex-mule and the pollo y arroz! The hummus appetizer was really good as-well!

We stayed at the hotel that is adjacent to Cuna for a week and ate here many times. The food was very good. It was not typical USA which was nice. The breakfast sandwiches and omelets are excellent. I had a 'breakfast milk shake' one morning and that was a disappointment. The ice-cream tasted like ice milk and instead of a vanilla flavor it had a hint of coconut.

A hidden gem in Merida, Cuna is a top class restaurant that is fairly priced. I recommend sharing an assortment of starters and trying some of their signature cocktails.

A beautiful spot, especially if you're a guest at the hotel... what great place to grab a drink or snack on your way in and out. We had dinner and breakfast here during our stay and it was delicious. Some attention can be paid to timing from the kitchen (it wasn't busy by restaurant standards) but otherwise, lovely. I cannot remember the name of the manager on staff for New Years Eve and Day but that guy! That guy. He was so wonderful.

Cuna was delicious!! The restaurant is lovely and service is so great! Drinks and mock tails we tried were incredibly fresh and original and food was so good. I recommend the hummus and pizza with artichoke and spinach.

Lovely restaurant! Food was delicious: I had an incredible French toast and my friend chilaquiles. Everything was great!

- Freshly baked pan dulce: Simple. Sweet. Quickly provided and warm!
- French toast: lovely presentation and delicious! Fluffy, great portion size, and the Grilled 🍍 stole the show.
- Gratin chicken enchiladas: Flavorful! We Highly recommend. Each enchilada is packed with 🐔. With a nice spicy kick, the green salsa is spot on!

- Atmosphere: This is a great brunch spot; highly recommended! The 🎶 was good, the staff was attentive, and the their English was really good. I thought the décor inside was charming, and the spacing was very well done. There was a sense of intimacy. The décor outside is equally great. The only downside to eating outside - in fact, my only criticism for this restaurant - would be the car traffic nearby. Luckily, it is nearly drowned out by the music. Definitely the best breakfast/Brunch place we are at in Merida.

This place is awesome. The ambiance is great and I love the roof top terrace. I had huevo ranchero my husband had huevo motuleños and our friend had scrambled eggs with bacon. The passion fruit drink and the coffee and tea was great. We will highly recommend this place and be back.

Possibly the best non-cereal breakfast I've ever had (enchiladas and fruit). Guacamole is delicious. However, I had not long stepped off a long-haul flight plus connection, so it felt more like teatime to me.

Absolutely incredible farm-to-table style restaurant in downtown Merida. It’s attached to the Wayam Mundo Imperial hotel. We had the tostada, peach ensalada, and arroz con pollo. Clean flavors that reflect the local cuisine. Decent wine selection. Highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant! Great attmosphere both outside on the patio as well as inside. The enchiladas verdes were delicious!

The food is very good here and the restaurant is in a beautiful setting, within a hotel. I liked the fact that there was a lot of different mocktails to choose from since I was the designated driver. We were here for lunch with some friends...but beware the meal sizes are quite large! The hamburgers were truly monstrous and the individual pizzas were also quite large. I had a pasta dish and it was a more reasonable size. It was very tasty. (I didn't get to take pictures of the meals.)

An amazing hidden gem with a killer breakfast. Upscale seating but friendly prices. Everything is deliciously seasoned and proportioned. Perfect fried egg!

One of the best meals I’ve had in the Yucatán! Loved the playful cocktails, incredible wine list, fresh seafood, and a tomato salad that awakened something in my soul. Fabulous service and decor too!
