La Playita

The food was great, servers were very nice. Great ambience, and the place had access to the lagoon shore, including a point where you could jump off a floating dock. We especially enjoyed the hot sauce, "diabla shrimp pasta" and the brisket and some of the fruit waters. There are also a few cute cats wandering around.

This place is absolutely stunning. Really great food and right on the lagoon. We even went back the next day to try other things on the menu as we were so satisfied. Once you’re finished eating or drinking you can also sit out on the floating dock for as long as you’d wish and enjoy the blue waters . We’ll be back one day for sure!

During my visit to Bacalar, I had the pleasure of dining at La Playita, and the experience was absolutely delightful. Nestled on the edge of the lagoon, the restaurant offers breathtaking views that perfectly complement the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

The menu is diverse, celebrating Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. Every dish I tried was exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful. I particularly recommend the seafood, which was fresh and delicious. The presentation of the dishes also deserves praise, with attention to detail that enhances the dining experience.

Another highlight was the excellent service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to offer suggestions and ensure everything is to your liking. The combination of impeccable service and high-quality dishes makes La Playita a must-visit destination in Bacalar.

Furthermore, the ambiance of the restaurant is truly unique. With charming decor and a laid-back vibe, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal while taking in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon.

Best place to go in Bacalar. ✨ It's a classic, you have to go for the view and the ambiance. Great for anybody: family, couple, friends, etc. 🙌🏽 They also have cats as company ! 🐱

Stopped here on route from the border to PDC for a late lunch. Beautiful place with lagoon view & really nice ambiance. Service was friendly, relatively quick & the food really nice (had some of the best empanadas I ever ate).

I went in with 0 expectations, the food and service was a 10/10. Highly recommending the coconut shrimp, the sauces provided were delicious, the batter was perfect and crunchy and not greasy at all. Truely met the price for the value.

This is a most due place to see and eat. Very nice clean place to eat in the swim. I had the hamburger and my wife had the chicken sandwich. They both were very good.
The next night my wife got the pasta bowl And I got to cod fish. Both were excellent 👌
They have excellent sauces that you eat on taco chips. Which for us was the highlight of eating there.

Fantastic place on the lagoon. Several gluten-free options, salads and exquisite shrimp ceviche. The staff knows about cross contamination and informed me that the nachos were not safe.

Beautiful restaurant with a great view to the Bacalar lagoon! It is in downtown's Bacalar. Great aguachile and michelada. I totally recommend this restaurant.

La Playita has a magical atmosphere right on Laguna Bacalar. The restaurant has a crowd pleasing menu with tasty meals and cocktails. I had the cochinita pibil and loved it! It’s a must in Bacalar!

Very nice, clean by the water with excellent views for every table, lots of shade, lovely breeze! The food and the atmosphere was really good and prices very reasonable. Love it!

We really had a great time here, the food was AMAZING 👌❤ Even though some comments in Google maps mentioned a bad service- our experience was completely different- the food arrived fast (maybe because we arrived a bit before the rush hour) and the waiters were very friendly. Will come back again for sure 👍

Atmosphere amazing, food so delicious, looks yummy, service perfect!

This was one of my favorite restaurants out of 2 during our 2 weeks in yucatan.
I cannot fault it. Everything was amazing! The menu, the food, the cocktails, the decor and atmosphere.
We were told to wait for a short momemt with our newspaper themed menu whilst they selected our table. Once we entered it was spacious and beautiful, we had a table close to the lagoon so we had a view and a lovely breeze. There were no mosquitos as they burnt copal. The food was so good I couldn't stop making strange noises with each mouthful. The cocktails were creative and delicious, quite strong too.
Highly recommend this place.

Probably the most famous and high end restaurant in Bacalar. Food was tasty and service was quick but prices were relatively high. I can recommend it if you want to be in a trendy spot.

I love this place! Not only is it really large and the setting it all outdoors all day long but the food here is some of the best I’ve had! My boyfriend and I came here 3 nights in a row to try new dishes. One night we came for drinks and there was a live band. The vibes were so nice, relaxed. Kids can play in the water as your having dinner. They have a large variety of drinks and food options and everything tastes so fresh and made to the highest quality. My boyfriend and I agree that one of the best dishes is the coconut breaded shrimp. We HAD to come back for that. He would’ve ordered the brisket again as it was cooked to perfection with a smoky taste. The size of plates are quite filling. I recommend you come here! It is a lovely place with exceptional food, drinks, and service. They also do take-away. Very animal friendly if traveling with cat or dog. Wheel chair accessibility from the front, the rest is a wooden deck.

The food was AMAZING! It took a while to order, but that was totally forgotten at first taste.
