Buuveit Camp

Beautiful Ger / Yurt Setting - we went in October so there were only 3 of us there, and it was awesome!! Fabulous food, so peaceful, right in the mountains with views of snow and larch trees. Since Summer was over, the main cafeteria and resgular bathrooms were closed, so outhouse we went! The other small restaurant was perfect with a variety of high quality food and such a quiet atmosphere, planning on making this a week's vacation next time! Used Utgo (?sp) who was a perfect guide, and Ben with Travel All Russia to book our trans-siberian train trip from st petersburg to beijing, with this stop here for a night. Wish it was 2 weeks! A definite must, and a more beautiful view than other ger camps in the area.

Didn't stay the night there in ger camps like some people in our tour, they said it is huge and gets a bit cold if the fire went out. (not luxurious but ok)
went for lunch, the lamb from the pot was yummy, salads were nothing special.

Wrestling performance was ok, archery show was a bit boring, no horse riding performance that day though. Saw some rented bikes arrive when we left.
Got to try out some folk dress free of charge, the sour fermented milk was quite disgusting for people not used to it, just try a little, and their biscuits were really hard.

Très décevant. C'est un attrape-touriste. Du bruit toute la nuit : des chiens qui aboient, des jeunes en mobylette ou en scooter qui crient, une boîte de nuit en contrebas qui tambourine. Impossible de dormir le matin à cause de l'ouverture du toit qui laisse entrer la lumière du soleil. On ne peut pas mettre 0 étoile alors 1 étoile correspond au paysage non pollué qui pourra plaire à certains et à la literie tout à fait convenable. Nous déconseillons d'y aller mais pour les plus téméraires, pensez à prendre les yourtes de haut de gamme et à emmener vos bouchons d'oreille et votre cache-oeil indispensables pour bien dormir. Dernière petite remarque : on mange avec des couverts IKEA là-bas, c'est pour vous dire le dépaysement.
