Terelj Luxury Hotel

Nice large and luxurious hotel with good affordable food.
Rooms were good and comfortable.
Great place to take a walk or hike outside, with the most spectacular views through the nearby hills and rivers.

Stayed here for a night to get out of the traffic of Ulaanbaatar. Loved it. Oldy worldy feel. The rooms were large and luxurious. Think suites rather than bedrooms. The restaurant food was nice, but the portions are huge, so think carefully before adding. Several times we needed to be carried back to the room :) Batnyam on reception was brilliant. Very fluent in English, but more importantly, courteous and professional. They were more than happy for us to check out late (offering even 4pm!). He would belong in any 5 star hotel.

Decent fitness room, modern technogym equipment, so more than enough for a work out. The pool is probably its biggest let down, which is actually a shame as it's actually one of its biggest selling points. The pool lights don't work, and the whole pool area needs a proper clean. Swimming in the evening (it was open until 10pm) with googles proved difficult as the water looked murky. It's clean, don't get me wrong, but I felt it let the property down a bit. The jacuzzi was also a bit greenish. It felt tired. Same thing, needs a proper clean and maybe a retile. The banya (sauna) in the mens wasn't so hot, so didn't bother there, but even still, the hotel is a great place to relax. Lots of nice nooks and a library etc. If you wanted some peace and quiet to read a book somewhere outside of your room, this is the place.

The territory isn't that large, and not that much to really see within the grounds although the terrace at the back of the property overlooks the river and a large hill (baby mountain). It's very picturesque. I'd recommend walking along the road for a few kilometers, turning left, and then cutting back along to the property through the woodlands until you reach the river. Was a nice 4km little stroll.

Would definitely return. It's expensive, but we were happy with the value for money.

This is a recommended hotel in Terelj National Park. I enjoyed a cup of tea while looking at the river in front of the hotel. You can feel the luxurious and traditional Mongolian atmosphere where celebrities such as Prime Minister Thatcher and Hillary stayed.

A bit of luxury and old world charm. One feels one has arrived at the Palace. Visited for a brief weekend in winter. Had a great horseback ride in the snow, swim in the pool, used the fabulous spa and had a delightful dinner. Would definitely recommend if you need a bit of pampering.

It s a huge hotel. It s that big that i got lost on my way to the toilets. It s very well maintained. The place is very clean and comfortable. Of course the place is not cheap. Expect western prices in the restaurant. The only thing that s a little of a downfall is the swimming pool. It s not attractive at all.

Terelj Luxury Hotel is as it says. Luxury at its highest. The beds are so comfy. Not sagging or anything, straight flat and oh so comfy. I could lie there all day, but the hotel has so much more to offer it would be waste to spend too long in bed. The hand towels to dry your hands are not those cheap paper towels but actual cloth towels (we call them facewashers) and oh so soft. Bath towels, bath may, dressing gowns - all the same - soft luxurious cotton. You get more than one towel each and all the toiletry needs you could ever ask for (except a shaving razor). Comb, toothbrush, tothpaste, soap, shampoo, condioner, bath soap, shower caps cotton buds etc. The arm chairs in the rooms are quality and comfy. They even have evening room service where someone comes and closed the curtains, takes off the bed cover, turns on the lights (and TV) checks everything is ok then leaves a little chocolate for you. Bottled water is not limited to one per person. Counted 4 bottles for personal use at no charge and replaced each day if consumed.

There are two restaurants in the hotel, which is the 5-star hotel in Mongolia. You know, 5-star hotel, this is just awesome, especially in countryside.
