Much bigger than I imagine. The first large cavern or hall with pagodas etc was huge. The boat ride back (from the other sid of the mountain ) through another cave topped it off.

Saddan Cave is a popular tourist destination located in Hpa-an, Kayin State, Myanmar. It is one of the most impressive caves in the area, with its unique rock formations and underground river system. The cave is also known as Sadan or Zadandaw Myaing, and it has become a must-see attraction for tourists visiting Hpa-an.

Saddan Cave is an enormous cave system that extends over a kilometer long. The cave is accessible to visitors, who can explore it on foot, as well as by boat. Inside the cave, visitors will be awed by the towering limestone walls, intricate rock formations, and stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over thousands of years. The cave's walls are also adorned with intricate carvings and Buddhist statues.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Saddan Cave is its underground river system, which flows through the cave. Visitors can take a boat ride along the river and marvel at the stunning rock formations as they glide through the cave's cool waters. The boat ride usually takes around 30 minutes, and visitors are provided with life jackets for safety.

Saddan Cave is also home to several small shrines and temples, which are visited by local pilgrims. These shrines are decorated with Buddhist statues and other religious artwork, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the cave.

Overall, Saddan Cave is a breathtaking natural wonder that offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors. The cave's stunning beauty and spiritual significance make it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Hpa-an, Myanmar.

A stunning cave where one is greeted by the many Buddhas at the cavern-like entrance. Wear non-slip footwear and bring a torch to walk through the cave (maybe slippery at times). Be greeted by a burst of bright light and a lovely tranquil lake. The transition from darkness to brightness brought a smile to my face. :) We chartered long wooden boats and paddled through a cave that is half submerged with water. It was an awesome ride with plentiful of photo-taking opportunities. Enjoy!

The most impressive cave. You can walk through from entrance to exit of cave. At exit of the cave, boat are waiting for you to get car parking. One boat for maximum six people. Fees is kyat 6,000 (Oct 2019).
Option 1, you can walk back from exit to entrance if you don't love to go back by boat.
Option 2, you can go back car parking by boat from exit of cave. For option 2, you must take your slipper or shoes with you. Because you have to walk 5 minutes to the car parking after boat trip. Best time to go this cave is evening between 4 pm and 5 pm.

A pretty big cave with a nice walk path. You can hear bats towards the end of the cave. We did this cave to take the boat ride which we really enjoyed. If you plan on doing the boat ride, the boats are at the end of the cave, cost 6000 kyat per boat that’s fits I believe 6 people. You have to take your shoes off to enter the cave but If you plan on doing the big being your shoes with you because there is about a 5 minute walk back to the parking area. There views from the boat were beautiful.

Beautiful cave long and big, taken care of really well with lights and bridges where needed. At the end of the cave you get out in the small lake where you can either take a boat back or go to another smaller cave before which has MUCH less people (we were alone in it) it's not as big I believe but we never got to the end. Great place to enjoy a coconut before the 10 minutes boat ride back to the entrance. Boat rides are 1.5k each or 6k per boat (holding max of 4 people).

I think this is the biggest cave in Mon State. It's also one of the tourist attraction place. So you should go there if you visit Mon State. You can walk in along the cave and at the end, you can also ride the small boats which can contain maximum six passengers. The inside, the cave is cool and the walls are cold and Buddha images are really amazingly existed.

Super fun experience. We enjoyed the cave, it was huge with lots of natural formations and also various Buddha’s. At the end we paid 1,500 per person for a foreigner ticket to take the boat back to the parking area. We also massively overpaid to set a turtle free. Apparently they are being “rescued” from the rice paddies but this was hard to verify. Regardless would highly recommend.

Myanmar has so many of these wonderfully atmospheric and spiritual attractions. This one definitely is a highlight.
The walk through the cave is fascinating but be careful: it was very slippery on our visit. Carry your shoes through the cave if you’re returning by boat. The cave is reasonably well lit but a torch would allow more exploration.
Don’t miss the beautiful animal images on the walls of the main chamber.
There’s another smaller and quieter cave across the walkway at the boat end of the cave. The boat trip alone is worth the visit.

This is a wonderful mostly natural experience. Its not very historical but the cave is amazing inside especially at the end, then we took a canoe and cruise back to the beginning of the cave via lake/river.
Higly recommended totally worth the detour to hpa-an!

A hidden beauty in Kayin State. A long ride from Hpa An. You will see two epic elephant statues at the entrance. My long walk through the cave is epic, there are many buddha statue s and wall arts. The nature decorated the cave amazingly. My best experience in this trip is an astounding boat ride through the water beneath the mountain. Definitely recommended to visit in dry season.

Nice cave very huuuuge. If you do the all tour inside, keep ur shoes in ur hands with u, coz when u arrive at the end u can take a boat for a small tour of what left as water to reach back the start point and there's a bit of walk... Better to do this last walk with shoes haha. Still a very pleasant and nice cave!

Amazing walk through a cave that is a Buddhist temple, once out on the other side you can take a boat back around underneath a limestone karst and through the rice paddies for 1500 kyat per person.

Five stars for the short boat trip after the cave through a beautiful serene landscape. 4 stars for the cave itself: very large stalagnites and stalagtites.

Incredibly beautiful cave complex. You walk through the limestone mountain range and exit to a trip back to the start point via a cave under the mountain via local canoe.

Beautiful place. Large cave but takes only 15 minutes to enter and exit. Footwear is not permitted inside but bring them with you for wearing after exiting the cave. Bags of fishes can be bought to be released into the lake outside the cave while taking a boat ride across. Both the boat ride and fishes don't cost much, only about 5000 kyats in total for both. The best time to go would be noon,so that you can watch the sun set while on the boat. Villagers are friendly but not very good guides.
