Shwe Hnin Si Seafood Restaurant ရွှေနှင်းဆီ ပင်လယ်စာ စားသောက်ဆိုင် (၄ မိုင်)

Food way exceeded expectations. Even though it seemed like it might've been a tourist trap with its proximity to the Victoria Cliff Hotel, they delivered really excellent home cooking. The menu names aren't very clear (for both English and Burmese readers!) but the surprises generally were fun, tasty. The "clam soup" with green vegetables turned out to be a peppery, leafy soup with snail-like shells. The omelette with fish intestines was actually with fish maw, and was cooked more like a scramble with prawns and bean sprouts – the best dish of the night. Booze is cheap too, with a pretty well stocked bar for bottle purchases. There's only a Penfolds for red, but worked very well.

Absolutely delicious! We came back here every night we stayed in Kawthaung (3 times!). We had a number of different dishes, including a lemon grass fish soup, some sweet marinated and grilled shrimp, watercress + mushroom veggies, and a number of other things. All were amazing, and the price very reasonable. The place is run by only by women, something we were very happy to support. There were a number of mosquitoes around one of the nights, so don't forget to spray up.

Very friendly staff and mostly awesome food. Ended up having 4 meals there during our 3-night trip!
