Vakona Forest Lodge

Incredible place to stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything you need and the sound of the forest as you fall asleep. The staff were always friendly and accomodating. The night walk was amazing, with a very helpful guide. I was feeling unwell during my trip, and the hotel manager/owner was able to direct me to a local doctor and tried her best to help me out. I really appreciated her kindness.

Overall, one of the best places we stayed in Madagascar. It isn't as superficially flashy as some, but the staff consistently delivered a top notch experience. Our room was extremely quiet; it's nice being in a stand-alone building, so you don't hear other guests, or worry that they hear you. We stayed three days, and the menu was diverse enough to not have repeats, which is not the case everywhere. The location is perfect, close to many reserves. They have continuous power, so you don't have to figure out when to charge your camera batteries and phone. Our first morning, we reported a minor problem with our room, and by that afternoon, not only had they fixed it, but they also noticed and corrected a completely different issue that we didn't even mention, assuming it was not possible to fix in this remote location.

Very Incredible I can be with the Lemurs and such closed on the Lemur island. And they are so cute and harmless. You can feed them and they will jump on you shoulder it's amazing experience really and you will never forget.
The landscape on the Lemur island also is beautiful, sailing on the river you can find your inner space over there as well.

A stunning lodge in the middle of the Andasibe forest with great food and service. We spent three nights there and loved it all. I roamed the grounds taking photos while not busy otherwise. The management was especially helpful in sorting out a small problem.

We came here for lunch. The food is excellent, wide menu choice, good price. Maybe the best in the area. Workable wifi, as it is in the area. Access is a long way off the main road, still worth it if you are visiting Lemur Island anyway.

Vakona forest lodge is the most expensive place you can stay in Andasibe. That being said, I thought it was worth it. The rooms, staff and food are lovely. There is a swimming pool and night walks to look for chameleons and lemurs. Lemur island is close by, and owned by the hotel.

Clean rooms on the hillside with a spectacular view on the rainforest and the lake. The restaurant is above expectations, french and Italian cuisines are available, and one definitely should try rhum arrangé.

My stay was a little while ago, but it was fantastic. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, the drive there is incredibly scenic, staff were warm, and friendly. The food was really good, too.
