I cannot describe how beautiful this place really is. Lot of movies and series were filmed here, including Laurence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. Only few families live in the old town nowadays but there are a lot of shops with artisic souvenirs. The view is magnificent when you climb on the top of the mountain. This place is unforgettable, magical and a must see, you will feel like you are in the movies. ❤✨

Our visit to Ait Ben Haddou was a transformative experience that transported me to another world. As we wandered through the ancient streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we felt a deep connection to the rich history and culture that enveloped me. The mud-brick buildings, weathered by centuries of sun and wind, seemed to whisper stories of generations past. Climbing to the highest point offered breathtaking views of the surrounding desert landscape, evoking a sense of awe and wonder. Exploring the intricately decorated kasbahs and learning about the lives of the people who once inhabited them provided a deeper understanding of the site's significance. Please wear comfortable shoes, hat and carry water with you

I had the pleasure of visiting Aït Benhaddou in Morocco and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The tour was fantastic, with knowledgeable guides who provided fascinating insights into the history and culture of this ancient UNESCO World Heritage site. Despite the windy weather, the breathtaking scenery more than made up for it, adding an extra layer of drama to the already majestic landscape.

Walking through the maze-like streets of Aït Benhaddou, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder at the sheer beauty and intricacy of the architecture. It was truly like stepping back in time. And knowing that both Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed here only added to the magic of the place.

But what truly made the experience memorable was the warmth and hospitality of the people. From the locals who welcomed us with open arms to the friendly vendors offering handmade crafts, everyone we met made us feel right at home.

Overall, I can’t recommend a visit to Aït Benhaddou highly enough. Whether you’re a history buff, a film enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates natural beauty, this enchanting destination has something for everyone.

It is one of the beautiful place with a lot of history. Located outside the City it is totally a nice place to Visit.
Try to be there before 10am or late evening to avoid the massive crowds.

Spacious, luxurious, and isolated from the city, it is the majestic palace of Ait Ben Haddou, a witness to the prevailing architecture in southern Morocco, which is based on mud construction. The palace was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. It may remain one of the best-preserved palaces in Morocco. There is no doubt that this fortified castle, located 30 km west of Ouarzazate, represents an attractive destination for a tourist trip. It takes you on a journey through time and space, and provides you with wonderful décor to take unique and unforgettable souvenir photos. The directors' choice of this palace to film their films was not in vain!

The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. Ait-Ben-Haddou, in Ouarzazate province, is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco.

It's the 3rd time here and the kasbah is as beautiful as always. Is way better to visit it without a guide not only because it is free, but also because you won't be rushed just to get to some restaurant outside where you will spend more time than in the kasbah. At the entrance down the river there is also a shop with fixed prices.

Amazing place! So beautiful so much history. Hilarious too, watch out for the house doors of people there who leave the doors purposely open, that way you accidentally wander in to use the toilet and they charge you 5 dirhams.

Brilliant piece of history. Well worth a visit. Get there early before the hoardes arrive on busses.

WOW! What a place! No wonder that Hollywood loves this place as well (Gladiator 1+2, Laurence of Arabia, Games of Throne 3,...)! A must see on the way to the Sahara desert!

One of the most popular touristic point in Morocco. The guides can tell about the interesting history of the place - UNESCO world heritage - and about world-famous films, which were filmed here.

It is a beautiful Kasbah UNESCO protected. It was one of the stops of the Sagara Dessert 3-day trip. There are several movies filmed here. The entry fee was 30dhm (like 3$). At the top the view is nice, and the way up is good, not a big hill. I did not see anything that unique that it is possible to go to the top for people with physical/user of a wheel chair
