Zen Surf Morocco Surf camp & Yoga

I could only highly recommend Zen Surf Morocco Camp and Yoga. The staff is very helpful, welcoming and smiling. The food is excellent and the surfing instructors are great, always nice and excellent teachers! I have already been there twice and I will definitely come back.

Lovely people running the hostel, clean rooms, comfortable beds and good food!
I enjoyed the surf and yoga classes very much. Good surf teachers that really tried to see everyone and gave good personal feedback (which also helped me as an intermediate surfer). And a great yoga teacher as well!

I know many different surfcamps but this is the only one I went more than once (and I will come back again!). It’s always a question of what you’re looking for, but for me it is a perfect fit. It’s a wonderful, super organized, caring and beautiful camp which provides everything I need. I loved it the first time, I loved it even more the second time. You can do yoga twice a day on a beautiful terrace, you can choose your surf package so it fits your needs, you can always ask if you want to change something and they will do everything possible to make it happen. As a person who likes guidance in the lineup, I had the perfect teacher who knew excactly when to stay close and tell me things and when to let me do my own thing to practice and overcome little obstacles. Or when to sing for more waves to come (on days of small waves) and just have fun in the water with lots of laughter.

I liked the food a lot, there was always plenty and you never had to worry about anything - they took really good care of all needs and always thought about putting your name on the lunch if you’re vegetarian, vegan etc. I really like that all days are organized in the same way, so you can really get into a relaxing routine - waking up early, doing sports all day, always having food prepared for you, doing yoga before or/and after surf, sleeping early. Of course the routine doesn’t always match perfectly with the tides, but if you’re really crazy about going at the most perfect times, you can do that on your own. You’re always free to do what’s best for you and they will always help you the best they can.
I love the vibe, I love the setting, I love the spots, I love the kindness. For me it is really perfect and as a person who has a lot of responsibilities in daily life, this was paradise because I didn’t have to worry about a thing. The sunsets in front of the house are incredibly beautiful, they have the sweetest dog in the whole world and I met many wonderful people. It was by far the most relaxing time of my year.

We had the best time! Lessons were great- we were beginner surfers. Staff are really helpful and friendly! Food was awesome and healthy. Yoga was beautiful- set on the roof looking at the mountains as the sun rose. Rooms were clean and comfy!

Great school, amazing instructors and people working there, good location. Extremely accommodating and understanding when some things didn’t go to plan for me. I stayed at school twice and looking forward to go back one day.

100% recommend. I had an amazing stay at Zen Surf: the atmosphere was really chill and nice, the staff super friendly and the food delicious! High quality surfing lessons, with small groups and spots adapted to our level, and attentive instructors that took the time to explain things and give personalised advice to help us improve our surfing technique. My friend and I were doing some basic research on surfing camps a few days before our trip to Morocco and came across Zen Surf's website. Sent an email, and expected nothing of it. Nicolas responded almost immediately and gave an extensive overview of the experience, accompanies by fast responses to questions we had.

The whole experience while at the camp was very friendly and memorable - we were able to make friends and have really great conversations with folks around the world. The coaches were amicable, and it felt like a whole big family the time we were there.

Can't forget to mention Zina the dog!!

What a great place! We had an amazing week @ Zen Surf. Great Surf Teachers. Never learned so much as a beginner. We were a group of 3 girls and had our room with private bath. Loved the food, the yoga and the hospitality! Thanks so much 4 everything. We will see you again!

I spent only 4 days at Zen Surf, but I loved every single second of it! The facility is right next to the beach with a breathtaking view of the ocean; you can even catch the sunset from the balcony! The whole place was super clean, and the food was amazing! You get such big portions, I could only finish my lunches in two rounds. And the people there! They were all super helpful and kind, they create a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere!

I simply loved the surf lessons as well, I fell in love with surfing already on my very first day! :)

Zen Surf was beyond my expectations, and I'll definitely return!

Unforgettable, magical surf-retreat holiday (with optional sunrise and sunset-Yoga on the roof-terrace!)

The beautifully painted, very cosy and clean Bohemian-style hostel directly on the beach and the very friendly and good-humoured hosts made our stay an extremely enjoyable and easygoing and fun experience.

The daily structure was very pleasant: there was optional sunrise yoga in the morning on the roof-terrace with a very friendly and calm instructor. There was plenty of time before or after Yoga for a deliciously varied breakfast, while the surf instructors loaded-up the cars for us to take us to the beach at 10:00 o'clock.

All the food was very varied and super tasty throughout the retreat and the double-bed room was clean, unpretentiously decorated and with a direct view onto the beach and the magnificent sunsets!

A great new surf-spot was selected for us each day, perfectly chosen for the level of the group, with a delicious freshly prepared lunch-picnic on the beach.

We always had excellent, very motivated and humorous surf-coaches for our daily surf lessons, who always ensured we were safe while practicing what we had learnt. This made learning to surf (better) into a very enjoyable almost addictive experience :)
And after the picnic-lunch we still had 2 hours to practice all we had learnt in the waves if we wanted to or to just chill and sunbathe (or chat to the charming local beach-sellers with their fantastic hot Moroccan mint-tea and various delicious local sweetmeats etc.).

A punctual return to the hostel at 16:00 provided plenty of time for resting/ yoga/ excursions/ Hammam-wellness-visits/massage etc. after about 4 hours of surfing!

At 19:00 the best meal of the day! Daily freshly prepared Tagine with lots of either fish or meat with loads of vegetables. (A strictly vegetarian option was also available).

In the evening, there are many options for meeting each other in the lounge or in the gorgeous courtyard-oasis outside, with a Café-Bar open until at least 23:00 every night!

A few times a week the hosts light a campfire 🔥 to accompany the group-process: this creates a friendly space for meeting new guests and taking-leave of departing guests.

We highly recommend this yoga-surf-retreat for beginners, intermediate and more advanced surfers.

This holday was just amazing for us. We will never forget it!

Spent a week here, met awesome people, improved my surfing and also calmed down and stretched out with yoga. The center is well connected with the locals. There's always staff around to hook you up with tea, taxis, hammam etc, like an informal and free concierge service. The dog that lives at the center is well behaved and will do tricks if you feed her. She might also spontaneously follow you if you go on walks/runs to keep you safe from the beach strays, very endearing.

Rooms were decent, I stayed in a bunk room with 3 others and it worked well. Shower and bathroom in corridor, clean and nice. WiFi connection was stable throughout. You get a private lock box for valuables. Room got cleaned everyday, chefs were great.

Gear was good, both softboards and more advanced boards. You get driven to a good surf spot everyday, they tended to opt for spots that are less crowded, instead of always going for the biggest waves. Make sure to go in the grey mini bus with Brahim for the best music;)

I can definitely recommend this to anyone who likes surfing and yoga. Excellent experience!

Everything was great and the whole team at ZSF are very welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay awesome. The surf spots were always great, the coaching was very good, the food was delicious, the accommodation was perfect and the days were planned really well with 2 yoga sessions per day. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay somewhere genuinely Moroccan with a really nice small group vibe

it was a fantastic trip! at first I was a bit scared by the idea of ​​leaving alone, Being my first trip alone, but I would do it again a thousand times, Nicola, the owner, was very kind, as well as all the team, Said , Brahim and the girls, all always kind, helpful and smiling, the surfhouse is fantastic, aesthetically beautiful, always clean and above all a few steps from the beach. The food is very good, the freshest vegetables always present, the surf instructors were fantastic. I really highly recommend this surf camp to everyone with all my heart, I've been there a week and can't wait to go back again.

As total beginners, my girlfriend and I had a great time at Zen Surf. The teachers are great and the long sand beaches are very forgiving to beginners.

The house is next to the beach and we stayed in the bedroom with sea view and ensuite bathroom which was very convenient, clean and comfortable. Best thing was that you could see the sunset from the window and hear the waves when leaving the window open during the night.

Another great thing at Zen Surf was the food (better than in many restaurants in Marrakesh) and eating together with the other guests on one large table. After just a view days this felt like a real community and we really enjoyed playing games in the evening or exploring the village together. Finally, the Yoga sessions on the rooftop and walking to the beach to see the sunset thereafter was one of my highlights!

I joined my boyfriend for his surf holiday, and I absolutely fell in love with Zen Surf. I took a few yoga sessions and it was great. Not to mention Zina, such a friendly and loyal dog. The food is great, the team is very friendly and they are always willing to help. Thanks to Zen Surf I also met amazing people from all over the world, had great berber teas, and learned a lot. I'd definitely recommend this surf camp, and I will definitely be coming back. Xxx

I don’t use to put advises on google and in fact this is the first time i do it.. but i really need to say that the experience in surf zen was amazing mostly because of the STAFF and a good location on calm beach close to a local village.
