Probably the best in the area. The host was very nice, welcoming and catered to our requests expeditiously. The food was fantastic with very distinct flavours. We ordered a grilled fish dish and chicken pasitilla and both were excellent. Would highly recommend

My husband and I came for a day trip in Essaouira and were so delighted to have eaten at Sayef, following a recommendation from a family member. The food was scrumptious, especially the lobster soup and the service was brilliant.

We’d happily come back just for the beautifully fresh and flavoursome seafood, and of course the lobster soup!

Its simply the best place I have tried in morocco! Staff is extremely friendly.
Get the chicken tagine and apple crumble. They are exquisite, you wont regret.

Great food in a homely atmosphere. Service was excellent as the owner was very hospitable.

The food was excellent and there are a variety of daily specials, our group, predominantly being British, especially enjoyed the Apple Crumble for dessert!

Lovely place for traditional Essaouiran food. Came here twice for lunch. Had the couscous , Moroccan salad and the chicken tagine. All delicious and reasonably priced. Cosy and homely. Great blues soundtrack too.

The food is really good and well prepared. We split the starter of the day which was an octopus salad. Then we had the daily main course, tuna with honey and soja and a Saint Pierre fish filet with vegetables. They also serve black olive tapenade as a welcome appetizer! It was a great alternative after a few days eating tajine and couscous. The place is lovely, decorated with old pictures and, cosy. The man who attended us was very kind and helpful. Service was fast. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is fantastic a real hidden gem in the heart of the Medina in Essaouira. Great food with a varied menu with lots of daily specials. The service is great and its very reasonably priced. I walked up without a reservation and got a table for 2 and had a great meal.
The starter of mozzarella and tomatoe salad was delicious very light and healthy. I had bolognase which was very good. Came with some real cheese to top it. My girlfriend had a tuna steak and this was absolutely delicious.
Good value great service and the apple crumbed desert with valinna ice cream was excellent

We were looking for a quick meal after a long day on the road at the end of a two and a half week tour and our group of 8 was not disappointed. The specials of the day included lobster soup, seared tuna, crispy goat’s cheese, seafood pastila, fresh fig tart and apple crumble, all fresh, homemade and beautifully prepared. Some of us thought it was the best food we’d had on the trip so far!
The prices were more than reasonable and the owner was both humble and proud of his food and restaurant. The food arrived in a timely manner even though by the time we left the small establishment was filling up. Highly recommend this place.

A real hidden gem. Came here from the raving reviews I saw on Google. Can't say they were wrong. Absolutely spot on. We came here for lunch. Nice and peaceful. The owner greeted us and sat us down and made us feel very welcomed. Very clean place, I must add in comparison to the other local restaurants and very fairly priced. He gave us the WiFi password aswel. He's such a lovely guy. And of course, the food was the best we have tried in Essaouira. I just wish we had found it earlier as the next morning we are flying back home. Thank you for the great service and food. Also it has a very traditional morrocan decor 😍

Incredible tasty food. Food served with fresh olive tapenade and anchovies. Super friendly service. We loved it. Our Moroccan salad, monk fish kebabs, calamari and grilled Johnny dory were delicious. Definitely one of the best meals we’ve had in Morocco.

The goat cheese, fish and lobster were very tasty. We also had the avocado and date drinks which were great as well. I cannot recommend this place enough, a definite must try.

Food was excellent, we started with “Fried goat cheese”, host suggestion even though we thought about it we almost missed it. It was “delicious”, girlfriend ordered one to go 😅

After starter we had fish and you could feel the “home made” taste of it. Felt like I was visiting uncle living in a city on a seaside and cooked for us.

Can’t express gratitude to the host who was super friendly, humble and spoke just enough English. Place and toilets were super clean as well.

You won’t regret choosing to eating here. 🤤

Went to this restaurant for dinner as we were staying nearby . What a lovely experience. It is some of the best food we have eaten in Morocco. Even the vegetable tagine had flavour and you could taste each individual veg. My partner had a very nicely cooked tuna dish. The host was delightful and gave me complimentary cookies while my husband ate dessert. Will return next time we are here.

My favourite meal in Essaouira, despite going to three different rooftop spots. Cozy trattoria mom and dad vibes, you can taste the love.

We had a large table without a reservation and the service was great. There appears to be only one man running the front of house, but he did so splendidly. Will eat here again if I ever have the luck of returning.

It is clear the owner takes great pride in this place. He even sought out one of our friends who wasn't able to join our table to give her a little treat and apologize that he was so busy. This hospitality is beyond any language barrier.

Delightful restaurant with delicious food and kind, attentive staff. We tried multiple dishes - I am vegetarian and particularly enjoyed the crispy goats cheese starter, but my partner was so impressed by the fish dishes. You could go here with friends and family, but I especially recommend it for a romantic dinner in the evening - it’s candlelit, quaint and peaceful. Thank you to the lovely staff for excellent service.

It serves the best chicken pastilla I have had in Morocco and the couscous was also delicious.
Worth also trying the daily specials. There is something for everyone.
The service was exceptional.

Visited this family-owned restaurant for a lunch, group of seven persons. Starters, soups and mains were ordered. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. We were served by the owner who was very friendly, quiet and polite. Great choice of music. We came back few times.
