Visited this gem for their Chicken Couscous and it was nothing short of perfect. The flavors were spot on, truly showcasing the best of the cuisine. What made our dining experience even more delightful was the service. The waitress was incredibly friendly and polite, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The restaurant itself boasts a clean dining area, enhancing the overall ambiance. Its location couldn’t be better, offering a nice setting that complements the meal wonderfully. When you arrive you have to walk up the stairs. Skip the first entrance and keep going.

Great good and prices. Friendly staff, but the waiter wasn't that attentive. We wanted to order dessert, but he never came to clear the table or ask.

The starter sampler was nice. We didn't see it on the menu, but the waiter suggested it. I really enjoyed the pumpkin.

This place was recommended to us by our tour guide. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I would recommend. Get the chickpeas and lamb tangier.

We had a perfect lunch in this restaurant as soon as we arrived in Chefchaouen. We took a place on this terrace with an amazing view. Every dish that we ordered was so delicious, especially I suggest you to take tajine with goat and plums, it's really an outstanding combination. Restaurant Baby Ssour was suggested to us by a local guy, we asked for a place where we could find good and typical food and I have to say that it has 100% satisfied my claims. Of course it's also cheap.

I had an excellent culinary experience in Bab Ssour Restaurant, Loubia and Bissara where like i never tasted before, Anchovies and Sea food where delicious as well,

the restaurant has a large Moroccan Food list the choose from on the menu and almost everything is tasty, the rooftop has great view on chaouen horizon.

If you are here on summer have a little patience because it always full, but totally worth it for a great experience.

My fiancé and I just finished our 11 day tour in Morocco. Out of the 10 different tagines we’ve tried in numerous cities, Bab Ssour set the bar for best tagine. My fiancé and I shared the goat tagine and were absolutely blown away. This is not a fancy restaurant and you won’t empty your bank but it will be your best meal in Morocco by a landslide

An absolutely wonderful place to eat. A must visit. The food is excellent (the best we’ve had in our 10 day trip to Morocco) but more importantly you are made to feel part of the family the moment you arrive until you leave. The menu has a large variety of Moroccan dishes and every one we tried in our two dinners at the restaurant (we for sure went back for a second night) were extremely flavourful. Treat yourself to the yogurt for dessert, it is delicious. We’re very grateful for our experiences at this Bab Ssour!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bab ssour restaurant in the enchanting town of Chefchaouen, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant's location, nestled in the heart of the Blue Medina, sets the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal.

The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully adorned with traditional Moroccan décor, creating an inviting and cozy ambiance.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu offered an array of Moroccan dishes, and I was blown away by the flavors and presentation. I highly recommend trying the tagine, a true Moroccan specialty. The combination of spices and tender meat was nothing short of mouthwatering.

To complement the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing glass of mint tea, which was served with impeccable hospitality. The attention to detail in both the service and the food made the entire dining experience exceptional.

Lastly, the rooftop terrace at Bab ssour provides breathtaking views of Chefchaouen's famous blue buildings. It's the perfect spot to savor your meal while taking in the picturesque surroundings.

The lamb and beef tagines - both heavenly, of the bone meat and so flavoursome ! Favourite meal in chefchaouen. Also impeccable service despite being very busy. You won’t regret eating here!

Whether it’s the atmosphere, service or food, it’s all very high quality from my hands down favorite local restaurant . Highly recommend asking the chef what to get, he will take you on a Moroccan journey with his dishes, all while providing expedient service! I must go to anyone visiting chefchaouen!

Typical Moroccan food, very cheap prices and warm welcome. The stuff are so friendly and the tajines and salades are so delicious 😋

Great food, we googled some of the dishes and the words were unfamiliar so we had tangiya which was a beef stewed for n ras al hanout, which was very tender. It doesn’t come with vegetables so we ordered chickpeas and lentils as a side. Next time we would order a vegetable Tagine and split the two as it was a lot of meat. Lovely traditional food, very busy, lots of tourists, and would recommend

Lovely restaurant with great upstairs seating and amazing views. We went here for dinner on a Friday evening hoping to eat some couscous, but unfortunately arrived too late (around 8pm) as it was already sold out - our bad of course, but just something to be aware of if you want to avoid making the same mistake. We ended up getting a few other things instead, the veggie tagine, beans, the Moroccan salad, and the selection of starters. The last one was recommended by our waiter and he was absolutely right to bring our attention to it, everything on that plate was just heavenly! So many different combinations of flavours, we just loved it. The beans were also really lovely and a little smokey, the salad was nice and refreshing, and the tagine was good, but in its veggie form definitely not the star of the show. You also get more bread than you can possibly eat and a little dish of lovely harissa on the side.
Service was also really good and friendly and all of this comes at a very affordable price point, so can only recommend this place!

Great food and great people. The views were great up on the top deck. There were some very good vegetable options here. Our server was really cool. He gave great recommendations and was a pretty big Instagrammer which was cool.

The best food in all of Morocco.

We enjoyed the mint tea, Pastilla and the Kefta tagine ( small meatballs) .
The staff were very friendly and attentive and recommend the yogurt with honey and raisins for dessert.
We enjoyed the food so much that we asked about a cooking class for the following day.

We reached out to them through google maps messaging and had a reply in minutes.
Said ( Si-eed) is the owner and mastermind behind Bab Ssour and restaurant Choirafa. A extremely knowledgeable gastronomer from Morocco. He took us through the market to the butcher shop, produce and spice merchants to buy all of the ingredients for our meal. We toured his restaurant and kitchen and learned about all the things that make Chefchaoen so special.
Said took the time to show us how to prepare a very special meal called Tangia which he explained the origin and technique to recreate the dish when we get home.
Overall this experience will be remembered for the rest of our lives.

Thank you Said and to all the staff we met and for wonderful day off cooking and eating. We hope to take our new knowledge & recipes home to show our friends and family and hope to return soon.

Delicious food, decent place to go for Morocco dishes

We came here for our anniversary and were very happy with our experience. Delicious food, especially the eggplant, mixed seafood tagine, and lamb tagine with vegetables. The service was excellent, very friendly staff and the server was patient with teaching us a little Arabic. Highly recommend Restaurant Bab Ssour!
