If you are a tourist that is visiting Chefchaouen, do not visit this store to obtain a SIM card that will work in Morocco. The woman and her assistant completely scammed my wife and I when we were trying to buy a data service that would work with our Canadian phones. Here's what happened:

We walked into the store to get a data package for our six days in Morocco. The owner of the store tried to sell us a 12 GB data package, but we felt the 6 GB package for 80 Dirhams was more than enough. She then asked us for our passports, which would have made it obvious we were from Canada. After trying to get the data package to work on my unlocked Canadian phone for 15 minutes, a local walked into the store and said that this data package was not compatible with Canadians phones. We complained that the owner of the store should have explained this to us when we presented our passports. The owner of the store then began yelling at us, saying that we still had to pay the 80 Dirhams because she couldn't sell it to anyone else.

We asked her why she hadn't explained this to us when we had handed over our Canadian passports, but she didn't have any answer. We now realized that this was why she was trying to sell us the more expensive 12 GB package from the beginning - because she must have known that the Orange SIM card wouldn't work but she would get the money anyways.

While I'm not concerned about losing the 80 Dirham (~$10 Canadian), I'm writing this review to bring awareness to what the owner of this store is doing to tourists in Chefchaouen. I'm not sure how many tourists this owner has scammed, but considering that another member of our tour group had this happen to them, I imagine the number is large. I fully intend to escalate this issue to the Orange telecom company, because scams like this will leave a sour taste with tourists that attend Morocco.
