Nothing short of exceptional! Found this gem through google maps and I am so happy to say it was a great experience. From the waiters, to the owner, to the food and the ambience, everything was calm, peaceful and lovely. Waiters were attentive without being persistent, food was well balanced and consistent. We were only in Essaouira one night and so glad we spent it here! Would highly recommend.

This is very quickly becoming one of my favourite restaurants in the world.

Everything I’ve eaten here has been excellent. They have a brilliant drinks selection. The service is quick, efficient and the staff are always kind and friendly.

We’ve been 3 times in 4 nights now, and I’m already having to resist the urge to go back again tonight.

The decor is really nice, and while it’s not a crazy place at all, there’s been a great buzz whenever we’ve gone there.

We’ve tried the Margarita pizza, Diavola pizza (non-Halal), sea bass, caprese, Insalata di Mare, basil Panna cotta, Tiramisu, fried prawns and calamari, Carbonara and bruschetta. Everything has been excellent and I can’t find a single issue with the food we had.

Food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the speciality of the day which was the lobster and linguine. We also ordered a pizza as we wanted to try it. Both dishes were incredible. The service was also very good as the waiters were very friendly and helpful. We also got to meet the owner and it was nice to tell him what a great restaurant he has. We will definitely try to visit again in the future.

One of many visits to Gusto and they never disappoint. Unfortunately no Keanu Reeves this time ( here once during filming in Essaouira) but still a lovely experience.

Burrata starter is a delight. Basil panacotta with chocolate sauce not to be missed. Good wine list especially of Moroccan wine - don’t be afraid to ask about it. The owner is helpful on helping you find the right one.

Atmosphere lower score…. V quiet this Saturday night and no live music (fair enough)

Overall, one of the more reliably good restaurants in Essaouira and well worth tracking down

Delicious food in a very pleasant place. The waiters were so so so kind!!!!! I had the best gnocchi ever! My boyfriend really loved the ravioli. Authentic Italian food, highly recommended!

Great place with great pizza. It’s always hard to come by true authentic pizza when traveling but this place surely lives up to the expectations. Our starter and dessert were great as well and I would highly recommend the basil panna cotta!

We were hanging out for a pizza tonight after a long drive home, but most of my experiences in Morocco have not been good. Luckily I saw a photo of a delicious looking authentic wood fired pizza with Parma ham and rocket on a Google review here and together with the other reviews we decided to give Gusto a go. A quick call with a very nice English speaking gentleman and a what's app message with our location and 25 minutes later our yummy pizzas arrived. Very tasty and my partner's fruits de mer pizza had both the most seafood and variety I've ever seen !(prawns, octopus, clams) which you would NEVER see in Australia 😍 (there you need a magnifying glass to find any seafood LOL). Yes it's more than pizza in local snack shops but you get what you pay for so we were very happy. We'll definitely visit the restaurant to experience Gusto again for the good food and ambience/environment. Grazie mille 🙏🌷

Excellent food, excellent service. We had 3 meals, the salmon pizza, porcina pizza and the staff kindly prepared an off the menu gluten free salmon and mushroom pasta for us. Very nice restaurant with an authentic Italian feel. Would recommend!

I happened to be in Essaouira for the weekend before catching my flight back home to London but I felt like I was in need of some very well made Italian pasta. I grew up in the south of Italy so I can tell the food and the wine have been simply AMAZING, staff is also super welcoming and friendly, they made my night! Would recommend Restaurant Gusto to anyone, check this out!!

This is a great Italian restaurant. There is a good selection of different dishes that would suit every taste.and the staff are very accommodating - they are efficient and attentive without being over baring.
If you’re looking for wine then the selection is vast, both local and international wines available.
Having spent many months in Italy, this is certainly authentic and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you fancy a change from the Moroccan fare.
We visited twice, once for a meal and once for take away. There was a good buzz and the ambience was great. Highly recommended.

Practically my kitchen in the last 6.5 years when I am in town. We are neighbors!
The Spicy Seafood Risotto and the Ossobuco are just so good. They also serve great Prosecco …….. !

I can't believe there could be such a great Italian restaurant in in Morocco. It reminded me of eating in Northern Italy. Live music is a plus as well. Lots of customers eating pizza which are thin crust. Pasta dishes are fantastic. Overall it's a must visit.

Very nice evening, nice place to have a break from the local food. Pastas were delicious, drinks were good and staff was lovely !

A pleasant environment and very professional wait staff, attentive but not intrusive. I had ricotta ravioli and fried shrimp and calamar. Everything was delicious. A guitarist provided live music and it was just right.

Another delicious meal Oct 2023. I had never had Panna cotta before but it was great. Just the right light desert to end a wonderful dinner.
