What an experience! The place is definitely a hidden gem in the Moroccan countryside, both the interior and the service is heart-warming and feels authentic. The cheese is also excellent and the cute little corner for ceramics is also worth a visit after your culinary experience.

I can't believe how much this place lived up to the WONDERFUL reviews. It was one of our most memorable experiences in Morocco. We witnessed the birth of a camel <3 ...and oh yeah, we had some cheese!

Wonderful place with hand crafted multi course menus made with local produce and their own hand crafted cheeses, lovely service, and very inviting atmosphere. One can feel the passion put into the experience from the owner. An absolute must visit if you're in the area.

Excellent place if you like goat's cheese. I went with a large group, and I had the vegetarian menu which was 205 dirham. The menu was two sorts of cheese with olives and bread on arrival then 2 amuses-bouches, a big salad of lettuce, cheese, fruit and herbs, a vegetarian tagine then a platter of 5 different cheeses with bread, fruit and chutney. Well worth a visit. The meat tagines got rave reviews too.

A true oasis in the middle of the rocky, hot dessert around Essouira! Service is great and the people here immediately invite you to feel at home.

Great place if you love goat cheese. Go empty belly: the menu is fixed composed of 7 dishes plus a final cheese board.

Both the owner and the ladies in the kitchen were very welcoming.

The dishes were delicious and well presented.

The bill came to 550 dirham for two people including wine and coffee.

Highly recommended.

A delightful off-the-beaten-track oasis only minutes from Essaouira.
We went for cheese (delicious) and ended up staying for hours.
A delightful owner who chatted with us; together we put the world to rights!
We shall definitely return.
(We were also interested by the pottery at the entrance.)

Wow! Best fromagerie in Morocco! The staff is very friendly and helpful, we felt so comfortable. Some comments below mentioned the high prices of the menu, but it’s definitely not! (You have to choose one of the menus) but for the price you will get so many dishes to taste, so that in the end it is pretty cheap. If you arrive there by your own car, be aware of the 2 minutes bumping and stoney drive (it is okay if you drive slowly or have a jeep, but you can also leave the car beside the main street) - and watch out, there are few turtles crossing the way. Don’t forget to bring cash (credit cards are not accepted).

Thank you for creating such a beautiful place! We will be back soon :-)

Remarkably good food, with lots of cheese of course, in a very nice atmosphere (definitely one of the best salads I ever had).
The host and his employees are very kind and open to explain/show everything about there cheese production. You should go there!

Incredible, personalized dining experience on the la fromagerie goat farm. All of the cheeses were delightful and the service was great. A little bit tough to find at night if you're driving yourself. There's just one small sign on the side of the road and the gravel road is really rough but well worth the bumpy ride!

We had a lovely visit to La Fromagerie! Great idyllic place with super friendly staff. Had a cheese tasting menu for lunch in the garden, let my belly come to rest in the hammock and got a coffee with fresh roasted beans. Highly recommended!

Absolutely beautiful and tranquil place, a 50 dirham taxi ride from Essaouira. Choice of three menus, we had the first one with the large salad and it was delicious. Thoroughly recommended - next time we will come and spend the night.

Very nice staff, very good food. You can choose between four or five four-course-meals, every course contains a tasteful sort of goat or cow cheese. It was also possible to share one meal. Chill-out music.

What a fantastic day. I went with a group of friends for lunch and got to see the animals and enjoy a fantastic meal. This is worth it! One of the best meals I’ve had in Morocco and the people were so lovely!

A very beautiful place. The owner and the staff were extremely kind and the ambiente was very cozy.
We had a Menue with a lot of different food (salade, tajine, ...) and finally a cheese plate with the home made goat cheeses.
The wine and jazz music in the background made this a beautiful evening.

Well this was a massive surprise we did not expect the quality nor the surrounding that this restaurant / boutique hotel offered.
As the name suggests this place specialises in cheese goat and sheep cheese to be specific. We came here for lunch one day and had our best meal in Morocco the portions are huge and all made of local products with some kind of cheese in most dishes. They have a few 3 couse dishes per day, we had the salad but they also had tagine and other local specials available. You get starters, mains and a massive cheese board for desert all for around €20-25 per person. The quality of the food and service was impeccable the cheese is made on site so it’s super fresh and delicious. The staff are really nice speaking some English, French and Arabic.

This place is one of the nicest places I have ever had lunch and if you have kids they have camels and goats to keep them occupied.

It’s about 6km from Essaouira you can take a taxi there and back its not too expensive.

When we went, the didn’t have any cow or camel milk cheese, so all the cheeses were variations of the same goat cheese. This was was disappointing. Call in advance to ask what they have.

But that was the only disappointment for us. The peaceful setting and friendly welcome from Abderazak, the owner who lived in Canada for 28 years, and his nephew Otmane, who showed us the cheese cellar and treated us to a coffee while we waited for our taxi, made for a pleasant afternoon.

What to Order:
The roasted meat dish which comes with a cheese platter (menu changes regularly)

Tips: Call in advance to reserve. They can also send you a taxi (50dh). And if you happen to be in Essaouira in the winter, you may be in luck and have the chance to try some camel milk and their camel milk cheesecake. It would be extra worth it to go for that.

A wonderful place with great food! It’s like a beautiful and calm oasis. If you love homemade cheese, you have to go there - if you don’t like cheese, go there anyway ;-)

A beautiful place, with beautiful food and ambiance. Lobster, languistine and cheese to die for in front of a log fire. We would return tomorrow if we could. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Well worth the trip out of town for!

Incredible restaurant just outside Essaouira (you need a car or taxi to get here). Best meal in Morocco in a charming setting. Highly recommend!
