Riad Dar Yanis

This Riad is so lovely and the people working there make you feel like family. They help you when you need something immediately and try to make you feel comfortable and happy. I felt very welcome and the location is great!
WiFi works perfectly, nice rooms, nice Terrasse and for the price it’s really perfect.

The service in this riad is everything. I arrived late at night and they still took the time to welcome me.
Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and have AC. The shower has good water pressure and temp.
They have a great breakfast and a nice terrace.
Location is great too.

I honestly want to say this is by far the best place I've ever stayed at. I came to Morocco for a study abroad, and staying here my first night in Morocco made the experience noteworthy for me because the people at this Riad are so kind. Naima, by far the greatest human I have ever known, is the first person you will meet once you get in the door, and her personality completely blew me away. She was honest, kind, and lovely. The two things that stood out to be about her were her willingness to help me despite the language barrier and also how hard she works for others.

Naima was kind enough to share her kitchen with me and swap stories about her family. You will find a lot of the people you meet at Riad like Sofia, her sister, who are her relatives. Adil is also the one who speaks multiple languages, and if you're looking to speak English, he speaks it very well. The family who ran Riad Dar Yanis were absolutely incredible, and it was an honor to be blessed by staying in their home.

Overall, though, I would recommend this Riad to anyone looking for an outstanding experience and service, especially if you are foreigners coming here, you will be made to feel like family. Thank you, Naima, Sofia, and Adil! I will always remember your names and plan to come back someday to stay for sure ❤

Wonderful place Adel the host was so helpful friendley any time I ask him for something her bring qiuckley the place is so comfy clean excellent breakfast in the middle of old city I recommend it to my freinds I’ll come back really if I got the chance again

🇲🇦 Dar Yanis is a beautiful riad in the middle of the hustly and bustly Rabat Medina, very easy to get to from Rabat Ville train station as basically a straight line. 🥙🫓 Lots of food places a stone's throw away - habricha sandwiches, paninis, pizza, all very cheap. They also recommend Restaurant Liberation, near the start of the Medina.

Naima, Adil and their team are very kind people, friendly, welcoming and great hosts - they speak some English but their tall colleague is amazingly multilingual and very helpful! They made us feel at home.

Dar Yanis is traditional, spacious and clean, with a stunning central patio, two big common rooms and wonderfully decorated guest rooms. In our case, the bed was big and comfy and well-equipped private bathroom, all excellent. There is also a terrace / sunroof.

Showers are recommend only between 8am to 8pm and as water is scarce in Morocco, to be sensible. WiFi was weak at times, but no biggie!

🥞Breakfast (8-11am) is very hearty with two types of "pancakes", jam, honey, yoghurt, banana, freshly squeezed orange juice and of course coffee or traditional tea "atay".

Don't hesitate to stay here when you visit Rabat!

Location is excellent, right inside the medina, the smaller street where the hotel is located is really quiet though. it's just five minutes to the tram and ten minutes to Train Station Rabat Ville.
The host and all staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous, rooms and the whole riad are very clean since both are cleaned every day.
Breakfast is tasty and plenty, freshly made and served as soon as you come down to the common rooms and usually consists of coffee, tea, orange juice, pancakes, crépe, moroccon pastry, fruit, yoghurt etc.
On the roof there is space to relax and meet other travellers.
Less than 200m down to one of the main streets of the medina you can find food stalls and restaurants as well as all kinds of shops.
You can reach the centuries old Kasbah within 10-15 minutes as well as the ocean promenade or the beach.

The city itself is beautiful and generally very welcoming. We did not experience any harassment or suchlike. The merchants don't try to urge you into buying something but everything is really relaxed though the medina streets are a little crowded at certain times. You can usually walk down the streets without being bothered by anyone, even when you look very touristy an/or european. There were no moments where we felt unsafe or unwelcomed by any means.

Our whole stay in Rabat and the Riad Dar Yanis couldn't have been any more pleasant in those regards.

Lovely Riad located inside the Medina of Rabat. The rooms are cosy and boast traditional Moroccan ornaments while offering the convenience of modern comfort ( Wifi / AC / Bathroom 🚿 & WC ). The staff is agreeable. You can hangout around the Riad as the terrasse upstairs is accessible to the patrons, where you can have meal or sunbathe using one of the available deck chairs.

The staff were so lovely and accommodating. They helped us by ordering a taxi as on our departure we had to leave at 3am and we didn’t know if we would have been able to find one. They also helped us with sorting out buses to leave as well.

Christophe and I have just spent several days at Dar Yanis from the 29/Nov to 3/Dec 2015. It was the most wonderful experience, Imad was incredibly helpful and without his help and attention our stay in Rabat would not have been nearly so enjoyable. We are also very grateful to Mounaim and the copious breakfasts he produced for us each day. We didn't need to eat again until the evening!! The Riad itself has great charm and our room Yasmine on the terrace was quite delightful. A special mention to Naima for taking care of our room and being so affectionate. Everyone at Dar Yanis provided us with the most wonderful hospitality, and we shall most certainly be returning, hopefully in the not too far distant future. So we highly recommend Dar Yanis for anyone contemplating a trip to Rabat. It is the authentic Moroccan experience.

Short walk from the entrance of the old town. We walked here from rabat ville train station which wasnt too long (even doable with large baggage). Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. Great location, short walk to the souks, kasbah and cité nouvelle
