Karosta Prison

Very good historical place, every hour there is guide tour. Tours are in English, Russian and Latvian. In my group even though i was the only non Latvian person, guide explained all the thing to me in English. Thanks for all the people who works there.

This was a fun themed tour of a complex that has served seven regimes, including the nazis and soviets, as a military prison. Fairly grim conditions as you would expect. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke decent English. The site has some interesting WW1/2 war relics. Wasn’t expensive and definitely broadened my horizons, so a recommend from me 👍🏻

Interesting place to visit, a lot of history you can get from this place. You need to come 10 minutes before visit in order to buy tickets. The place is only allowed to visit with the guide. On website you have write down the entrance time, I believe is each hour and the place close at 6

Pretty interesting history of this place. The excursions with a guide are made every hour. There are two different guides. One speaks russian, the other one english. To go on excursion it costs 5 EUR per person. There is a cafeteria to buy some food and soft drinks. Outside there is a big yard to hang out, make photos near the old military car. As I went with a kid, I liked that there was a place for kids to play in the yard. If you are heading for Liepoja, definetly worth a visit.

Woow 👌 great place. Tickets only 10 min before excursions. So you need to be there HH:50. For example: if you want to have excursion at 14 o’clock, you have to come and by tickets 13:50.

Interesting place. Guided tours starts at every hour, no mater how much visitors arrived. You can choose english, russian or latvian tour's language. Also there is souvenir shop, buffet, and even hotel, if you want to stay for the night at one of prison's cells. I recommend to visit. 10/10

Interesting place, it is not actually that big how it looks. But it is definitely worth visiting. The ticket price was really cheap and you get about an hour long guided tour there.

Nice small museum, staff is very engaging. Special interactive tours are organized. Room can be rented to stay over night in prison.

It's a piece of history you can visit here. This was a military prison used by the Russian when they were established in Liepaja. They used to send every soldier who failed to comply with the military code. So the visit of the prison is very recommended, the guide speaks in English and is very nice.

Very funny guide. Best museum experience I've had. The gist shop has very good prices.

I had a great tour in the Prison and the surrounding areas of the town! Well worth a visit :)
They also have an escape room, a fun drama experience where you have to pretend to be prisoners, and you can stay over night for around €15!

For those who seek something unusual, who want to go back in time and relive the stories themselves! My friends and I underwent the most extreme tour - 1,5 hours in the role of a "prisoner" (to be correct, a misbehaved soldier). It's surely a one-in-a-lifetime experience, thanks to the stuff, city and unique atmosphere!

Karosta's prison was an interesting place, the tour guide was fluent in English and could tell the stories very well, the place looks authentic, would not recommend for claustrophobic people, since the experience for them could be overwhelming.

Very interesting place to visit and see how solders where closes for a short time. Tour starts from 12:00, price is 5eur.

Very interesting place. Tour was concise and covers all the rooms of the building. If you are into history do visit this place.
