Kat's Coffee

Excellent Espresso coffee made from Srilankan beans. We enjoyed Piccolo Latte. We also had the Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich, and the Beetroot Carpaccio with Feta special, very yummy. All served by friendly and attentive staff in a homestylen garden setting.

The café is runned by a female German, Kat, and she only has local females employed. I love that. The girls are so friendly. It's been my go-to place while living in talpe escaping from the hustle and bustle. Said so I loved the quiet, chilled atmosphere. And even if you go there by yourself you most likely end up with a fur baby somewhere around you. But please also respect their space.

Cute little cafe tucked away a short walk from the main road. Very quiet and relaxed environment. Food tasted great. Tried the sourdough sandwich and the chocolate cake. Cake was very moist and not over sweet. Bread was warm, fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and quick. Recommended for a relaxed bite after a morning or afternoon at the beach. Don't forget to pet the very adorable and friendly cat!

kat’s is an absolute gem. 10/10!! the moju grilled sandwich was by far the best sandwich i’ve ever had in sri lanka. the homemade sodas are a delight and not too sweet, and the carrot cake was a delicious treat! the baked goods are exceptional, and the coffee is the best you can get on the island. it’s obvious that special care has been taken to design a comfortable, welcoming, and clean atmosphere. kat’s is a woman-owned and operated business and well worth supporting. nothing but highest quality, all around. i can’t wait to return with friends and family.

A good coffee shop on main Galle - Matara road just before entering Unawatuna beach road. The coffee that we ordered was good and reasonably priced. $2 americano, $3 for cafe latte. The place does not accept cards so bring enough cash.

Cozy place with good coffee. Owner don’t mind to make drink with soy or any other plant based milk if you bring it with. Two lovely kittens playing around. Air conditioned place.

Good coffee (I had a flat white), flatbreads (I had the beetroot & feta) & cake (black tea cake). A little gem of a place with some comfy chairs down a narrow alley off the main road.

This is my favourite place from my trip to Sri Lanka. The red bean quesadilla was fantastic. We went back twice! Make a point to stop here if youre passing through or staying near Unawatuna. Lovely staff too.
