Kok Tobe

We went up by car although there is a cable car as well. Kok-Tobe Hill is a popular tourist attraction in Almaty. It’s a small mountain —200 meters over Almaty offering superb views over the city and surrounding mountains. Well worth the effort.

Kok Tobe offers a mesmerizing escape in Almaty. The panoramic views from the cable car are breathtaking, showcasing the city's beauty. At the top, the amusement park and the giant TV tower add to the charm. The variety of activities, from the mini zoo to souvenir shops, caters to diverse interests. However, maintenance of some attractions could be improved. The atmosphere is lively, especially in the evenings with street performances. Dining options are limited, but the experience is worth it. Overall, Kok Tobe is a must-visit, providing a unique blend of nature and entertainment in Almaty.

It’s a great place for entertainment you must ride a roller coaster it’s an amazing ride.

I really enjoyed being there though it was very cold. I enjoyed all the rides and moments. The rope was really amazing. I could buy something from the shop that I could take it home.

IF anyone going to Almaty and wants to go mountains same time take pictures and enjoy the nature and view I would highly recommend to use Fast ride which is on Abaya- Dostyk avenue cross written as Koktobe from outside.The fast ride cost around 3500tenge [ 30aed ]for one person and they accepts only cash or card[ no QR ] reminder ☝ You will be able to watch the whole Almaty and how it takes to mountain within 6 minutes .In Koktobe you can buy food ,there are cafes and snacks most attractions for kids , families , its enjoyeble for friends and you can walk back going down while you return then just take bus on regular price

Kok Tobe, an amusement park not too far from the city center. On a small mountain with with good views of the city. A bit of fun.

The weather was sprinkling when we arrive at the jump off. It was nearly sunset when ride the cable car. It was cold and so foggy.

The cable car ride was so smooth and we like it very much!
On the top, we are so happy to roam around as there are alot of activities you can do.

There is a mini zoo with exotic animals, there are arcades, restaurants, souvenir shops and what we really enjoyed was the Beatles Monument - it was the highlight of the Kok Tobe! We sing, dance and took a lot of pictures!

A nice and must visit place when to travel to Kazakhstan!

One of the favorite places in Almaty. Beautiful nature. It’s worth visiting. You can go there with friends or family. A bunch of restaurants. Lots of places for kids, including mini zoo :)

Very nice place to visit Almaty. I recommand you to buy ticket from Dostyk for both sides....

Excellent views and several restaurants at the top. This is a must see if you are in Almaty. Great place for families and especially children.

Good on cloudy days and especially in evening too. Has a cable car. Buses can reach the base only. Open till almost midnight

If you have a couple of days in Almaty, then worth going up here for great views of the city and surrounding mountains.

It's a recreation area at the top of the nearby hill. A cable car takes you up the hill from the edge of the downtown area. Didn't look like there was a walking path up.

At the top, there are nice restaurants, a park for a walk, a mini zoo, some entertainment and games. And a few places to sit and gaze at the Tian Shan mountains as the sun sets over the city.

I love this place.this place is at mountain.
You can go there by rope way or by taxi.
Here museums is available, roller coaster, ghost house, shooting game, market, you can see the city Almaty from the mountain the is a lense available to see the city.

Truly great area ! The gondolas are cheap, with great view of the city . There is lots of fun activities at the top . Also food areas & animal zoo. Amazing views of the city ! So highly recommend for travellers. The price of the gondola is 2000 kz .
