Gangchon Rail Park

What a must-try in South Korea! It’s surely one of my favorite experiences during my visit. Take a rail ride that takes at least 30 minutes as you appreciate the views of nature surrounding you. You’ll also go through interesting tunnels (one of which have party lights for an added experience).

We went here late November and it was cold already. During this season, it really helps to wear proper winter attire, globes and earmuffs included. The wind against your face can really freeze you!

At the end of the ride, treat yourself with hot chocolate and some snacks.

Came here in 2018 at the end of October, and came back again in 2023 at the end of December. One was autumn, one was winter.

During autumn, there were many small insects flying in some area, so you should wear a mask if you do not want them in your face.
The scenery is more warm and orange with the autumn leaves and atmosphere.

During winter , there are no insects. The rails have some snow in some areas so it looks quite beautiful. Also make sure to wear your big jacket as it is pretty cold while riding in the breeze.

There is a small box that you can put your belongings inside.
If you are alone or have only two people, you would have to share a bike with others. In 2018 i remember the guide mentioned that we can buy a two person private bike. But didn't hear it in 2023.

It was very fun nevertheless. If there's only one person riding the bike, it will be quite tiring. But it is possible.

This is highly recommended. Truly the highlight of S.K. Decided to come here 1st instead of Jeju Island and it was the best decision made. Reached about 11am and bought the ticket on the spot at the physical counter which was rather much cheaper than klook rates. But it is strongly suggested to purchase before coming if one is visiting this place during weekend of holiday seasons. There are official website of this place where ticket can be purchased. It was during the peak of autumn and the view was breathtaking. The paddling of the cart on the railway track adds the joy and fun and there are thematic tunnel that adds a different twist to the whole journey. 100% recommended to stop by and experience this.

The family loved this experience. Great scenery and a low-level workout in terms of the cycling required. There is a short train ride after that brings you to the end point. Note that the start point and end point are at different locations!

A must do experience if you're visiting Seoul. This was such a fun activity. I honestly didn't expect it to be so good. As your ride along on the rail bikes, you see incredible views of the Korean countryside. You also go through multiple tunnels, each with their own unique light display and music. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Korea.

This rail brings u through 4 tunnels and each each is installed with different lightings and themes. Personally I like the last one. Pulsating disco music and strobing lights.

Nice view while riding a 4 seater bike. There are portions you don't have to pedal, but all of you need to pedal, or it will be heavy. It was an early exercise for us and my family, hehe. At the end, there is a train waiting for us. The train travelled to the end station where you get off the rail park. Had a great time enjoying th view.

What an amazing place! Felt like we were in a Korean drama. Rail park. Tons of tunnels each with their own theme. Everything was sooo cute. And close to the end we took a ride on the love train

Didn't expect for it to be so much fun. The view was amazing. Even though you had to pedal, for the most part we let our rail cart cruise as the first part was downhill. There's also a rest stop where you can eat some Korean snacks.

If you have access to Klook or any other booking application, book ahead as this place can get really busy.

Super fun activity to do with young and old.

However, photography is not allowed during the ride for safety reasons.

I did it in the autumn afternoon, and the hot sun is really scorching.

Do remember to apply sunscreen and cover your face.

Tickets and reservations are required before visiting.

We also visited the famous Chuncheon Chicken 🐔 before our ride.

went via tour. they booked us in the first booking at 10am (i think). we all had fun and would recommend it. each tunnels have a theme.
took 25 min to bike. then have to wait for everyone to come to the mid point before we head onto the romance train ride to the other side (no ideas). our tour bus waited for us at the end. the whole thing is about 1hr plus.

We went here as part of a day tour. Enjoyed the bike ride which allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery including the green fields, mountains and river. They have quite innovative tunnel designs as well. However, it can get quite tiring towards the middle and last part of the track. The whole bike ride took us around 25 minutes to finish.

The ride is quite enjoyable, surprisingly good, and definitely worth to ride 2nd time. The view is superb. We took the last 5:30pm ride.

Went to Korea with an open mind but when I was told by the wife we'd be peddling a cart down 6km worth of training line was doubting I would even enjoy it.

I was wrong.
The Ganchon Rail park was genuinely enjoyable, we waitied as there was a schedule for the start of the peddling.. we didnt havw to wait long as we were joined by 3 busloads of tourists. The 6km was mainly downhill so it was comfortable and you get to travel through some beautiful scenery. Them you catch the short romantic train ride back to where you need to catch a bus (either tourists bus or the shuttle back to Gangchon)

Must try if you visit Korea..

Our group visited as part of a tour experience including Nami Island and an Alpacca Eco Park beforehand, meaning that we arrived later in the day before the Rail Park closed.

The facilities were easy to navigate, including the lovely café offering up good quality drinks and snacks.

We made one of the final rides in the day just before sunset - Cool, clear weather for the 25min or so ride to the train station which takes you the rest of the way to the end of the tracks.

The various tunnels were fun and entertaining throughout with a mixture of themes and music.

All-in-all definitely worthwhile making the trip!

Gangchon Railpark is a major attraction for both locals and tourists. The Railpark allows visitors to have the opportunity to experienvebeautiful Korean countryside in a unique and fun way.

We booked a tour to come here. We went to Alpaca World, Nami Island and Gangchon Railpark is the last stop. It is situated just over an hour from Seoul depending on the traffic condition. No matter what is the season, you can always enjoy this attraction

I am totally amazed with the scenary and how they utilise the old train rail to make it into a wonder. It's a MUST VISIT location in Korea if you're planning for family bonding time.
