Suncheon Bay Reed Field

The Suncheon Bay Reed Field is a wonderful place that I don’t think enough people know about! When you’re wandering around the boardwalk area in this nature reserve, you’re met with a cool breeze, peaceful sounds of nature, and a tranquil experience. This place allows for some incredible photos, ESPECIALLY during the evening hours, and if you’re fortunate enough to watch the sunset while you’re here, you’re in for a special treat. This was one of my favorite places I visited in South Korea during my time there. I will definitely return next time I go to the country! 🙂

Went there just before sunset.
Was beautiful with many picture perfect moments.
Walk on the board walk across the reeds, watching the sun set, the wind swaying the reeds, watch migrating birds fly overhead, and spy on mud crabs darting around between the reeds.
Altogether a very memorable visit.
Bought a combined ticket with the Suncheon eco garden.

Beautiful countryside, especially nice in the evening. Can see many crabs in the muddy wetland when walking along the elevated pedestrian way. Wear comfortable clothing to walk up through the forest (max half an hours' hike) to see the sunset over Yongsan mountain.. very romantic!

Middle of winter 2019-2020, My family visited Suncheon. There is a fantastic place you can enjoy wind, sound and views. I would like to ask you keep calm to hear the sound from sea.

Suncheon City has been designated as a cultural city of East Asia for 2020, a decision made during last month’s meeting of the culture and tourism ministers of Korea, China and Japan. The city located in Korea’s southeastern South Jeolla Province was chosen along with China’s Yangju and Japan’s Kitakyushu.

The city boasts the beautiful Suncheon Bay National Garden and Wetland Reserve, which is one of the five biggest coastal wetlands in the world. The reserve also has the largest reed field in the country, making the destination a perfect tourist attraction during the of autumn. Suncheon Bay National Garden covers 1.1 square kilometers and is home to countless different kinds of plants and trees.

Beautiful location amidst nature..wetlands, reeds and ducks and cranes and the golden hue makes it worth visiting!

Lovely area covered with walkways covered in Elm trees, should be great to go in Fall. The education pillars are really helpful to understand the development and history of the area. The boarded walkways across the marsh are nice to stroll along and see crabs and mudskippers.

Visitied 13th June 2018. Even on a grey and windy evening, the walk through the reeds was a memorable experience. Flanked by lush mountains and surrounded by crabs and jumping mudskippers, it was very surreal and the view of white cranes along the snaking river was very beautiful.
