Very peaceful and not too overly crowded. There is a small stall selling japanese amulets.

This is a pretty beautiful temple located on IKUTA ROAD. Behind is a lotus pond. There are many restaurants above. and I went to one of the restaurants in this street. A pretty good entertainment and dining area during the holidays

We arrived on a weekday late morning and were lucky to witness a prayer ceremony in process, how a visitor dipped the flowery paper in a pond known as 结缘泉水. There is English display information boards for tourists.

Love this place. Such a beautiful shrine. The intricate detailing of the gold on the red coloured wood, and the roofs are stacked in a way where it is earthquake resistance, so why aren’t houses built with that tessellated patterning. It’s crazy how beautiful this place is to walk around.

Many people were paying their respects.
Located in the center of the town, it is a place where one can find peace of mind.

Beautiful place to visit and right in the center of Kobe. Only about 10 minute walk from the Sannomoya Station.

It was good. Very peaceful and relaxing. We did the Chigaya Ring Passing- through the Chinowa Kuguri which is a ritualistic movement one does before going into the shrine.

Ikuta Jinja shrine is one of the most relaxing places in Sannomia- especially if you are having a hard day and want some quite time or if you just wants to escape from the crowd and just mediate and clear your mind. The shrine is beautifully built and for me it always looks different and beautiful as the seasons change. Walk around the back of the shrine to enjoy the large garden

Shrine that focuses on love and relationship. Great area to walk around and make some prayers and donations. A good place to visit in Kobe as it’s pretty close to a subway station.

It is a very nice temple complex, certainly worth visiting. There is an excellent small forest garden behind the temple with some very old trees. A great place to sit and relax with a lot of fresh air. Very quiet. There is also a small lake with a fountain in the north west corner.

Very old shrine surrounded by modern buildings, a frequent and very cool Japanese experience.
Shrine is free to visit and small enough to see in 30m or less. Well maintained and very beautiful.
Short walk from the nearby train station and close to many restaurants (primarily Kobe beef ones).
A nice way to spend some time before your food reservation!

A shrine that is located near the urban area of Kobe, Sannomiya. This place could be raised by walking from the nearest station such as Sannomiya JR, Hanshin, Hankyu, Subway, and Portliner. Here, it was said that the field was once becoming the battle area. Here, you can pray or just simply reminiscing the great leader who built this place.

In my opinion it was one of the most amazing places to see in Japan. You can tell and feel Ikuta Jinja is magical.

It gave me a very similar feeling when I went and saw Fushimi Inari but here I felt more at peace maybe because of how small and quiet it was.

I even got my Goshuin written on my book!

Ikuta Shrine in Kobe is an over 1800 year old shrine, and venerates the goddess Wakahirume-no-Mikoto. While Kobe is strongly associated with European-style architecture and ports, it is actually dotted with many different historic shrines.

It is said that the name of the Kobe region is derived from “Kanbe,” which is what families who protected the shrines were called. Furthermore, the secret behind Ikuta Shrine’s enduring popularity is its association with the goddess of making connections. Wakahirume-no-Mikoto is the goddess of fabric, so in the same way that two threads are entwined together, she is worshiped for bringing people together. It is a power spot for love and relationships.
