The perfect place for a quick bowl of ramen.

A cute little shop 10 minutes from Asahikawa JR station. A small easy menu to choose from and quick service. The shop also has friendly local oldies that we couldn’t tell if they worked there or were just there to keep the owners company.
It was very cute.

100% recommend this tasty ramen.

Very good Ramen restaurant in the area. The food was excellent. The res was established in 1949. Got a chance to take a picture with the original owner. He's 89.
Thank you, sir 🙏

Came here with my wife around 2:50 after the Asahiyama Zoo and to our surprise, the restaurant was already open (sign said they opened at 3pm). There were already 5-6 people in there slurping away at their ramen noodles. There aren’t many seats in the restaurant (fits maybe 10-12 people) so I recommend getting there early. There are all sorts of pictures on the walls with people who have visited and of the owner throughout they years… gives a bit of nostalgia to the establishment. The couple who owned it were very cute and friendly. We ordered 2 of the signature ramen soy sauce ramen dishes: Soy sauce-flavored chashu (roasted pork) ramen. Unfortunately they were already sold out of eggs, but we still enjoyed the ramen greatly. The broth was light and not overpowered with soy sauce flavor. You could definitely taste the mix of the fish and chicken in the broth and it was so delicious. It wasn’t too oily either. The broth paired well with the thin noodles that were still slightly al dente. The chasu pork basically melted in my mouth with very little chewing required. Overall, both my wife and I really enjoyed the ramen and the service at this restaurant. I will definitely be coming back when in Asahikawa

Reached here close to 2.30pm on a Friday and there was space for two of us. We shared one large soy sauce ramen, broth was flavourful and noodles were well-made.

The place was a bit old and the decor was also old and messy, but that didn’t deter us from having an enjoyable late lunch.

The best Shoyu ramen I have eaten.
Noodles yellow and springy,
Soup broth is nicely light and flavorful, the kind you can drink the entire bowl.
Now comes the heavy hitter, the charsu literally melts in your mouth due to the softness.

All the staff are super friendly as well! Especially uncle and aunty, still helping out with the shop even though they are over 80 years old.

Highly highly recommended!

Lovely bowl of ramen!

This is a family run shop in operation for decades. The whole place has a homey feeling to it and is super welcoming. I ordered the shoyu ramen and this was top notch. A deep, savoury broth of vegetables and fish - As far as I know no pork bone is used. Bouncy noodles and satisfying toppings. This is pretty much as old school as it can get and I loved it!

We came some minutes after opening in the morning and there was already a line, but things moved fast. Once you reach the front of the line you will be asked for your order, and once your bowl is ready you will be called in. We waited for 20 minutes which of course was absolutely worth it.

Delicious! First time trying Asahikawa style ramen. Love that the broth was flavorful and wholesome without being too fatty or oily. Noodles were done to perfection. Staff was super friendly even though they didn’t speak English. Highly recommend this!

Nice little ramen shop but great tasting ramen! Very friendly owners as well, you will need to get a queue number outside before getting in.

homely and comforting bowl of ramen.
their specialty is the shoyu/soy ramen, and their charsiu had the great balance of lean meat and fattiness.

the chef would also talk to you, and make you feel very welcome.

water is served here.

one bowl of ramen costs 850yen

Delicious shoyu ramen! This is a small ramen so that serves maybe 14 people at a time. When i arrived there was a queue that was being managed by a nice older lady. We were lead to the shop next door to wait for seats to open up. This place is extremely unpretentious but they don’t need to. The ramen was nice and tasty and despite initially thinking that the meat portions were small, it was just right. I wish i had ordered extra egg with mine so that was a missed opportunity. This is definitely going on the recommended bucket.

Found this ramen shop on Tabelog. We tried the most famous soy sauce ramen and also salt ramen. Both were great. The soup tasted so good! The price is very reasonable and the restaurant is not far from Asahikawa station, so I would say the location is quite convenient for visitors coming to Asahikawa by train.

This is the BEST Ramen place in Asahikawa. The taste and service of this ramen basically killed Santouka. This is a must try if you are in the city. There is usually a line up outside but the line moves quickly.
This restaurant has 72 years of history and many famous people came here just for the ramen. The owner still cooks ramen everyday himself and they definitely welcome anyone, and they are very nice to foreigners.

Recommend to try the miso ramen. The shop is operated by a family, and interacts well with both locals and foreigners. Enjoyed the food and interactions!

So good to see a traditional Japanese eatery that serves to non Japanese folk. Very reasonable prices for the amount of food you get, I struggled to finish the larger bowl. The owners are very nice and speak minimal English, but the menu is written in partial English as well, making it much easier to know what you're ordering.
