Ryokan Ayu-no-Sato

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! It's definitely one of the best hotels I've ever experienced. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, and I loved the open-air bath right in the room. The view of the Kuma River from the room is breathtaking and adds to the overall tranquil atmosphere, making the hot spring experience even more enjoyable.

What sets this hotel apart is their dedication to accommodating different dietary preferences. They offer halal food options, and I was blown away by the kaiseki meals featuring delicious halal Wagyu beef for dinner. The Unagi bowl set was also a delightful culinary experience, with generous portions.

Moreover, they offer a unique kimono experience, allowing you to capture memorable photos within their facility. I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity, especially along the Japanese-style corridor—it's a picture-perfect moment! Overall, an exceptional hotel that I can't recommend enough.

Well, Hitoyoshi is not as famous as Kumamoto or Kagoshima for foreigners. However, I would regard Ryokan Ayunosato top tier onsen hotel in Kyushu with reasonable price in new year peak season.

I do like the onsen experience and both meals are served with quality food and services. I stayed in a twin room and is spacious. The facilities of the hotel is at top tier, every details are the best.

They also have English speaking staff plus Russian staff, for those who doesn’t speak English, there is absolutely not an issue.

The souvenirs shop is large and operate 7am to 9pm, various snacks available for try.

Only regard I had was that I came late first day to the hotel and missed few hours for enjoyment ...

It was a excellent Japanese style hotel. I really enjoyed staying. It is situated Hitoyoshi town, Kuma riverside, and close to Hitoyoshi station. Hot spring public bathes ( there're 2 ) are clean and stylish. We can relax at these bathrooms hearing jazz music. Diner was also good. All of them were delisious. The room, I chose, was western style, but we have to take off shoes at entrance. The room has toilet and showerroom, no bath tab. View from the window was nice. Staff were kind and friendly.

Really nice onzen with a view over the river. We just visited the onzen so this recension is just for the onzen.

The onzen is devided in two parts. An inside hot bath pool with a cold bath tub beside. Outside there is a hot bath stone tub, a hot pool and a hot pool that is devided in three separat sitting places. The heat was really nice and the garden was beautiful done. The description above is for the mens bath. It was different in the ladies onzen.

The changing room was clean and nice and there were security lockers for no additional cost

I enjoyed great Onsen(hot springs) and great halal and vegan local cuisine. And I was very impressed by the hospitality of the staff. It is highly recommended for those who go to the Kyushu area.

It’s Perfect hot springs I ever experienced in Japan, decent room and nice green fried tea prepared in the room, wonderful view when you open the window, river aside & mountain surrounding, this is definitely a good place worth to stay again

I think this is one of the best hotel in Hitoyoshi.I see all the staff are co-operative and helpful.Different types of delicious food ,hot springs , to enjoy in karaoke and varities rooms .I want to remember this hotel for me.

Amazing expertise, all started with train ride there, there is a new Kyushu Limited Express KAWASEMI YAMASEMI that started service in March of 2017. The hot spring was great, food delicious, and awesome service.

結婚前、結婚後、初めての退職記念夫婦連泊旅行。ここを選んで良かったです。落ち着いた部屋。美味しい食事。妻もこの旅行で1番美味しくて良かったと。機会があれば又泊まりたい宿です

お風呂、お部屋、おもてなしどれも最高でした。そして家具などのインテリアもオシャレ👌更にお会いする人吉の方の皆様、肌のきれいなこと。温泉の効果なのかしら…広いお風呂はぬるめでとろっとしたお湯。外の二つある露天風呂のうち、小さいほうが熱めのお湯です。サウナが夜10時までで、残念ながら私は整うことはできませんでした😢また、是非お伺いしたいです。

御食事がとても美味しかったです。
7階の客室露天風呂から眺める球磨川や対岸の人吉城公園、遠くに重なる稜線...とても素敵でした。お湯は文句無し！気持ちよく、のんびり過ごすことができました。
ロビーのドリンクバーもよいサービスだと思います。
被災から3年でここまで復興しているとは、今回久しぶりに訪れて感無量でした。

関西からのフェリーを利用した、オートバイでの一人九州ツーリングで素泊まりを利用しました。ふだんは安宿、民宿、ビジネスホテルに限るのですが、たまには高級ホテルにでも泊まれば？という妻のすすめに従い、こちらに決めました。

いやー、いつもとは世界が違いますね。おもてなしの精神にあふれているホテルです。部屋までカートで荷物を運んでいただけます。チェックイン時にフロントに忘れたスマホも直ちに届けていただきました。

お部屋は贅の限りを尽くしたもので、一人旅にはスペックオーバーです。浴衣も大中小のサイズがそろえてあり、大浴場があるのに備え付けのお風呂は大きな家庭用サイズです。トイレも洗浄機ほかフルスペックで、別にスリッパが用意されています。

部屋の窓からは、目の前を流れる球磨川が展望できます。

特筆すべきは大浴場です。夜は5階、朝は3階の別々の浴場に入りましたが、どちらも似たような作りでして、露天風呂とミニプールと行ったサイズの浴槽があります。サウナは夜だけの営業のようですが、久しぶりに汗を流しました。これら浴室にもタオル類、ひげそりやクシも用意されています。湯質も素晴らしいもので、それぞれの浴槽に若干の温度差があり、確認に適した湯温に疲れるのもありがたいです。時間が許せばいつまでも入っていたいお風呂です。

1階には品揃え豊富な売店各種の各種の焼酎が試飲できるコーナーもあり、貴重な滞在時間を館内で楽しむことができます。

今回、初めて人吉市に宿泊しましたが、飲食店は近隣に豊富ですし、コンビニエンスストアも3分ほどのところにあり、利便性の高いロケーションにあります。

到着時に二輪車を雨の当たらない場所に誘導していただきましたし、チェックアウト後は、すべてのスタッフから挨拶をいただきました。繰り返しますが、おもてなしにあふれたお宿と認識いたしました。

とても料理や器も味も 芸術的でした 。 暖かいものを 各自 適時に出してくださいり最高でした。 室内の装飾品や 美術品が素晴らしくて 美術館的 また来たいな っていう 思いが 湧きました。 初めての感覚、

女将が玄関で迎えてくれました。上品で美しい女将さんです。
お風呂も綺麗で眺望良し！この規模にしては大きくて立派です。温泉質は下呂温泉に似てトロトロで素晴らしい。

この旅館の一押しは食事です。少し洋風が入ったメニューですがしっかり和食に合うようになってました。この時期大好きな松茸の土瓶蒸しがついたのは驚きで、みんな大喜びでした。
前菜のナスのガラスに入ったお料理はとても美味しい。
名物のおいものグラタン？もとても美味しい！(^○^)
若い女性は大好き！だと言ってました。年配の男性にも聞いたところ、ここの食事は量　質とも美味い(^○^)
もちろん若い女性や年配の女性もみんな気に入ったようです。

サービスも感じが良かったです♪

ロビーや食事会場は新しくてピカピカ。品良く高級にまとまってました。

お見送りもバッチリして頂き、最後まで感じが良かったです。

球磨川が氾濫したあの日のこと。
轟音とともに流れ下る濁流に加え、やがて救助ヘリの爆音と鳴りやまぬ消防車のサイレン。山の土の匂いとともに一生忘れまい。
四面楚歌の私たちに差し出された昼のカレーライスに安堵した。
あれから何度か訪れているが、いつも満ち足りた時間を与えてくれる。高級志向と一流は違う。ここは後者だ。

家族で久々に人吉を訪問。
お泊りはあゆの里で、とにかく部屋からの景色が最高です✨
雄大な球磨川と人吉城が、壁全体の窓や屋上のテラス、露天風呂から満喫できます。
また、料理が芸術的な見た目と、素材を生かした味で、舌と目で楽しめました。極めつけは、球磨焼酎の試飲コーナー！たくさんの種類が無料でいただけて、氷と水も用意されてます。
スタッフの方々もみんな親切で、あの大水害から初めてでしたが、完全な復興を目指している、地元の方々の熱気を感じました。
