Mimatsuso Ryokan

Owners literally made my experience here soooo good. They’re so cute and nice to talk to and there’s even a cute cat too! I would give the a hug if I could.
I really love this place. Food is also super great for Japanese breakfast. One thing to note is that be careful of the stairs haha.

Really recommend it. This Ryokan is about 600 m. from Asahikawa Station. The room was really good. The host was also super great. This place was really over my expectations (compared with the price 5,000 yen per night). They served tea and snack as welcome drink. When I checked out, the host gave me the gift bag, their were some origami, candy and a handmade bookmark. I'm so impressed!!!

Had a truly wonderful 3 night stay here. Family goes all the way to make you feel special & welcome to their home. The owner even brought us around in his car to see parts of the city! And dropped us off at the train station on our last day. Rooms are comfortable - there is both a private living area & a sleeping area that we got with the booking. Breakfast was served daily and food is delicious. It’s also very central - just 10 min from Asahikawa station and it’s 5 minutes from the main shopping / nightlife streets with good restaurants. This place is a hidden gem and I couldn’t recommend it more!

I had a wonderful stay here. The owner was extremely kind and they offered tea and biscuits upon arrival as well as a sweet farewell gift when I left. The owner also drove me and another guest to the station on our last day, saving us a walk through the cold with our luggage 🥹they also had the softest cat in the world 🐱the stay was comfortable as well, even though the building is old it’s well-maintained and clean. I plan on coming back to Hokkaido in the summer so maybe I’ll stay here again 😊

So incredible!! The owner was the most wonderful man I have ever met. He went so above and beyond to make us feel welcome that we felt guilty for leaving. If my friend and I didn't have a flight to catch we would have stayed an extra night for sure! WELL worth the money and more. Even though I can understand Japanese he still went out of his way to speak English with us. He had drawn a bath as well as offered us tea and cookies upon arrival. We unfortunately did not get to try this, but they apparently offer free kimono try-ons upon request, which sounds awesome. The owners genuinely seem enthusiastic about sharing Japanese culture with the world. If I ever return to Hokkaido I will absolutely stay here again.

Only warnings to be aware of is the building is quite old and they have a cat, so if you have bad mildew, dust, or cat allergies you might want to keep that in mind.

I had one night there with my friend. First, I wanted to book a hotel but full so it was my last choice. It's look a bit old out side with shared bathroom made me confused. But how lucky we were! That's the first time I've been in this kind of hotel. They was so friendly and helpful. I booked a single room but they give me a twin room with no extra fee. They knew we was foreigner and have no car so they printed a map with restaurants and shopping street near by. They brought cups of tea with expensive biscuits. They had a sign wrote that they can help you try kimono free in evening, but I didn't try 😭 I tried their ramen for breakfast, it was soooo tasty. If you like cat they also have cute one 😊 And when we check out all family came to say thanks and gave me a small give.

Excellent host, services and good breakfast.
Even gave me a lift to the station the next morning.
Will come back again.

For the price and the hospitality that we got, no complaints. Very friendly hosts, provided us a bit info of local area, told us there would be fireworks happening in the night etc. something you would appreciate when you come to new city for the first time.

Good variety of the amenities, bath & face towels, yukata etc.

Got mugi tea & sweets when checked in and parting gifts when checked out!

Our room was perfect for us, we could enjoy the feel of Japanese style rooms!
The owners are so sweet and kind, and Koyuki is so precious!!
Excellent location in Asahikawa, we had delicious food nearby!

Very wonderful staying experience!
The host is very warm that make you feel like home. Everything is ready and clear, the breakfast is just great and totally Japanese style. I already miss there even that I just checked out this morning. Near famous noodles and BBQ restaurant. Near JR station and super market, 7-11. Great location.

The hospitality and kindness of the owners was the best we have experienced. It was spotless and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended :)

The hosts were super kind. The room we stayed in easily fit 3 people. The futons were comfy, the bathrooms were clean and a parking spot came with the room. The bedroom also had an Aircon which was wonderful! If you're looking for a place to stay in Asahikawa I would absolutely recommend Mimatsuso Ryokan.

Hosts were so nice and thoughtful. The Ryokan was so well thought out, it had every thing one possibly needs for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was so delicious, traditional style Japanese ryokan breakfast is a must try! Host even gave us his own hand-crafted gifts when we left TvT! We love this Ryokan and hope one day we can come back and visit again :)

Amazing stay. The host are great and did everything possible to make our stay the best possible experience. Very nice tea & biscuits offered every night, calm and clean place, 10min walking from asahikawa station.

The hospitality of the host can only be matched by the one of your granpa when you visit for a few days.

Boss and wife very friendly and helpful. A taste of traditional Japanese hospitality at an affordable price. Will definitely stay here again.

From outside it does not look so great, but inside this is a wonderful small hotel with exceptionally friendly staff and service, and very cheap price, and very good breakfast. Highly recommended !

Boss and his wife are very very friendly。Boss can speak English。Room is clean，and when I arrived，everything in room is already available。If I get a chance to Asahikawa，I will go back here for sure。
