Very friendly and accommodating owners, I made an extra trip back to Uji to visit this cafe! Great view of the river, and was treated to harmonica and singing by the owner and his wife.

The most wholesome experience we've had in Japan so far, both owners were so friendly! They even played harmonica as we drank matcha and looked out towards the river. Absolutely gorgeous and quaint place, would highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this wonderful cafe enough! The owners are the sweetest people I’ve ever met in Japan!!
The owner asked where we were from, then played songs from our home countries on his harmonica!
The menu has the most affordable prices I’ve seen, and the atmosphere is amazing. They even have seating outside facing the river with free binoculars you can use!
There’s also an art gallery attached where you can view beautiful art, and even buy some small souvenirs!
If you go anywhere to eat in Uji, it HAS to be here.

We were just passing by and wanted to pop in, but at that time it was full. So we were asked to come back within 30mins. After we came back we got the table out at the terrace overlooking through the river. The owners were an older couple but they were very very welcoming. The owner even played to us a song on a harmonica. For us it was one of the most touching and most warm overall experience in Japan. Thanks for the great memories for the rest of our lives. This place is run by a very sweet older couple who are super welcoming and very pleasant and the owner serenaded us with some very lovely harmonica tunes from our home countries. The view across the river is amazing during a nice sunny day, and overall it was very pleasant!

This place was such a gem!! The interior was super cozy with an outdoor seating area overlooking Uji river. The matcha ice cream and drinks were delicious. The owners were the best part - they went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time there. The lady took the time to help us order and learn about our country, and later her husband even played the harmonica for us. I would definitely come back here if I get the chance to.

The cutest place that feels like your grandparents house, very cosy and homey. We were there only for 20ish minutes and it was easily a highlight of our trip, we came close to their closing and didn't want to keep them from closing shop, otherwise I would stay all day. It is run by the friendliest sweetest elderly couple that spoke english very well and were just super friendly and nice. The view of the river is amazing and the matcha latte and dessert set were very tasty. And to finish off our very brief visit, the owner played ud a song on his harmonica. I love them so much!!!

The food is Ok, but the older couple that run it are great! The Ojiisan will play harmonica and flute for customers if he is not to busy.

It was absolutely amazing here the drinks were delicious. They were the nicest couple running it. The genetlman was even so kind as to play the most beautiful harmonica I have ever heard. I would love to come back

Very nice food with reasonable price. It’s ran by an extremely friendly couple who play harmonica. The husband played harmonica for us and it was professional level. We felt very welcomed and highly recommend people to visit here

Great café run by a friendly old couple, with a nice view of the river facing southwest. The matcha latte is quite tasty, rich but not overly sweet.

Operated by an old couple, the ambience is fantastic for a tea time and some desserts accompany with awesome relaxing music, what a good day cheers

This is the best place that I've ever visited. Good desserts and drinks, homey decoration, Great harmonica and bamboo flute songs from the owners. They are so lovely. 🥰 I will come back again, if I visit Kyoto&Uji.
