The cafe is serving very tasty treat of the Uji mocha , tea and ice cream. There was a lineup when we were there, but the wait time is not very long. The staff are very helpful even they don't speak much English. The cafe are clean and tidy. There is also discount in the tea shop if you eaten in the cafe. Highly recommend.

Tasty food with friendly staff who manage to speak very little English. They have English menu and all their food was very tasty. Price are quite reasonable. Will definitely be back if I am back in Uji. Tip top service.

Great place to have a taste of authentic Uji Mocha. The ice cream / mocha drink was amazing. The mocha noodles with fish was a bit new to me - a bit hard to accept fish that’s sweet . Good to buy some snacks as well :)

There are a few locations in Kyoto, visited this particular one in Uji which was a little busy during lunch but was able to get a table without waiting. Menu was extensive with tea focused sweets as well as mains such as green tea soba and matcha curry udon which sounded very interesting. Decided to order the limited special matcha cake, red bean soup with grilled mochi and a hot matcha drink with a side of matcha daifuku. Didn't expect much from the cake but it was very tasty with strong matcha flavor and not too sweet; goes well with the cream and the meringue added some texture. Red bean soup was also great, really enjoyed the texture of the soft grilled mochi but the side of kombu drink which I think is a palate cleanser was a bit too concentrated for me. Overall very good matcha sweets, would want to try some parfaits and mains next time.

Hello. I have been there saturday at 10 am for opening. The cafe service was good and very fast. The 2 Parfait are excellent like always since many years. Other products are excellent, i took some tea, a cake, ... 2 points : they could split 4 places tables in 2 x 2 places to get more places. The toilets : there are only 3 toilets, 2 for womens and 1 shared for men and women. Its too few toilets for mens.

Nice Uji matcha experience. Waited for about an hour to get seated, but there is a nice shop to spend time for being home matcha snacks.

Excellent matcha based desserts including rich ice cream and parfaits. Parfaits change seasonally. There is an あじさいパフェ during the summer months. They also have very nice takeaway ice cream bars that are high quality.

The lollipops are very beautiful and delicious. Matcha soba is yummy 😋

Great place for matcha tea and dessert pairings ANDDD awesome matcha 🍵 gifts to bring back such as noodles, curry, drink powders, desserts, etc. They gave free samples and even had Washi tape matcha themed! Loved it here and it’s history dates back to the 1800s… so glad this establishment is alive and thriving!!! :)

My husband brought me here when I wanted to stop by Uji for matcha desserts and souvenirs before we leave Kyoto. I'm so glad we came! I loved their matcha desserts and their green tea souvenir options! Tax free available. It was raining when we were there. The store associates were really kind and gave us an umbrella on our way out since we needed to get back to the JR Uji station. Much thanks!!

One of best matcha ice cream. They also have very famous matcha cheese cake and matcha swiss roll.

Second times to visit and the desserts are great and beautiful.

Good cafe with excellent dessert options

Bought a lot gifts from this place! But too crowded for having matcha here. Prefer a quite place to drink some nice Japanese tea.

If you are visiting Uji for a day, try to come to this place for their soba noodles and Matcha parfait. You will not be disappointed! We were there in the afternoon and there's been a long queue. Best to come before the shop opens. While waiting to be seated, we bought some hojicha, sencha, matcha powder and some matcha treats. Remember to bring your passport to get tax refund for tourists.

Peaceful and quiet (as of now) for a good afternoon dessert or a treat..

Reasonably priced and the taste is good. Require a little bit of walking from the train station but overall a good experience.

Absolutely delicious. Paid 1790 yen for a dessert and matcha cappuccino.

Too bad we missed out on the food (past service hours), but we went scavenging the omiyage section and enjoying our catches back home. Worth every cent!
