Old Karuizawa Ginza Street

So so cute. Miffy & Peter Rabbit stores, Snoopy cafe + store, nice cafes plus we went to this shoe store Spingle Move which sells shoes hand made in Japan. We heard they are super comfortable from some friends and my husband bought 3 pairs. He was delighted after he wore them! The service in this store was also 100%

A street full of life and good vibes with plenty of shops both side. You can find variety of things here and also a trick museum. Very pet friendly area and quite a few famous shops. I kinda like a particular shop called international good and silver shop. This shop had things of my interest.

I love the shops, restaurants, and cobblestone streets. It’s always a treat to get some Flower Mountain Shoes 🥰

I came across this street by chance, it's has many shops and galleries as well as places to eat, it seems sauasage, beef and ham is popular.

I explored from one end of the street to the other. It was a gentle and interesting walk, easy to get to from station.

Beautiful lane with fun things to do. Street is filled with cute puppies. Best place to buy karuizawa special jams , honey etc.

Vintage street shopping with many food and clothing store! I bought a pretty looking down jacket as it was 5 degrees C on 12 Nov from a kind owner clothes shop. There were many families with their pets which they took care very much like their own kid. Trick art museum is also here but I didn't visit. You can take red bus to Usui Observation Pass from outside Tourist Information Center (at Kyu-Karuizawa). I think it's about 20mins walk from Karuizawa Station and I overheard people saying it's better to take bus ¥350 cash only maybe cos it's too cold.

If you're in Karuizawa this is a nice place if you want to browse different stores and grab a bite. You can take the bus for the Usui observatory from here.

This is a very popular tourist destination. At about 0915 the first wave of people who arrived by Shinkansen get to Kyukaruizawa Ginza Dori and search for bargains at the numerous stores, or search for souvenirs of jam, honey, soft cream cones, or food. I lived there for three months and got to know the area. My favorite shops were the French Bakery for coffee and pastries in the morning plus bread and dinner rolls, the greengrocer for local fruit and vegetables, the Butamon store for milk and drinkable yogurt, the pharmacy for many household and toiletries (and three for ¥100 zucchini), the post office for the foreign currency ATM, Izutsuya for hamburgers, Primo Pizza.

Antique, local and modern shops are around this area. Cafe and restaurants are alot to choose. It is the MUST if you visit Karuizawa.

Very nice place to visit. A lot of shopping to be done. Love the pudding, jams and the fruits. Very unique place in Japan to visit. Not to be missed!
